Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

I find that headband adjustment mechanism is very lose. My adjustment setting are always on 6 dots, but many times it goes to 5. T1 felt more stiff. If Beyerdynamic can solve these issues, i am gonna buy T90.

The mechanism is actually not loose at all on my pair. I feel it is almost too stiff. It is not easy to readjust when the headphones are on my head.

I had two T90. Only sold my T90 to buy the T90 Jubilee

The Setting mechanism is a bit firmer on the later model.

Cheers,
K

Never thought anything is wrong with their QC. They're at least not worse than other brands
Ofcourse there is worse, but my mentioned problems and ESPECIALLY rattling drivers are not rare thing from that i have heard... I was afraid To get rattling drivers in my DT990, but i got... I never Heard HD650 or HD800 have driver imbalance or Rattling drivers for example.

Oh, I see. I have never had any problems with Beyerdynamic headphones. The worst so far have been Hifiman HE-400i with imbalance and driver rattle and Sennheiser HD600 and HD650 "squeaking" sounds

Hope you'll be happy with your next one.

Thanks, Original T1 and T90 are Best Beyers for me, I have To say both are almost equally capable, but T1 have upper hand, because of wider stage and 600 Ohm also improve everything just a bit i guess. To bad new T1 is not as good.

ok so I'm running these puppies from a LH Labs Geekout V2>Oppo HA-2

how much of a difference would I get if I swapped the Oppo HA-2 to a Soloist SL?

I also tried the Brainwavz Angled Velour Pads. They make the T90 way too warm sounding an really muffle the detail that makes this headphone so great in the first place

Interesting. I also tried HM5 memory foam pads (velour) on mine and I kind of quite liked the sound. I am back to the stock pads though as I like the original sound more.

I was stunned at the difference in sound when i changed stock pads for HM5 velours. Had them on for a week.
It smoothens the sound as a whole. It's just way too smooth, i would keep turning the volume up :D

Bass becomes very dominant, and hits quite well but a there is an impression of too much mid-bass that seems to turn overall transparency down a bit at lower and medium listening levels.

Mids become pushed back a little but they are very clean and smooth. It was more apparent what words were sung and what artist did with instruments.
There was a gain in resolution here which was the most surprising difference.

Highs are toned down and very well controlled but again, too smooth for me.

Even the soundstage was smooth if that makes sense. The imaging was just as good as stock, maybe a bit better even.
Was under impression of clearer difference between front and back sounds in games.

Very interesting pads, overall. And strange :D
It left me with impression of more mid-bassy muffle yet its a bit clearer in the mids. What
At least twice as thick as my stock pads which are very worn out.
It didn't quite work in my setup. I ended up missing the bite in the mids, shizzle in the highs, vivid presentation and overall sparkliness of the stock sound

I would recommend them if you find T90 too bright or too thin sounding in your setup.
