Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

I've been using my T90s for about a month now and initially with a bad source I did find them sharply bright but with a better source I haven't had an issue. I find them very engaging, I often stop what I'm working on to just listen. My only real complaint is they clamp very loose so if I move my head to quick or lean back they tend to slide around.

How are the T90s compared to dt990 basswise (quantity n quality) and bigger/smaller overall soundstage(width/depth/height) wise and imaging/positional accuracy wise??
Overall the tonality is same or different?

T90s definitely have less bass, they are closer to DT880 quantity than 990, but a bit warmer, a bit punchier, and a bit deeper than the 880; tighter, deeper, and overall noticeably less than the 990. Imaging is definitely better on the T90 than either. Absolute size is hard to say; the T90 is definitely deeper than either, width might be similar to the 990. T90 has noticeably less recessed mids than the 990, and fuller mids than the 880.

It might also be because of the burn in time that it sounds better. New drivers tend to be harsh sounding.

Does anyone know where to get T90 replacement ear pads? I like to be prepared in case I ever need to replace these (in the sense of knowing where to get them). I can't find them listed on the Beyerdynamic spare parts website. I see the EDT 990 VB which is listed as the spare part for the T1, but it doesn't look like they're the same as the ones used for the T90. As far as I've gathered, the ones for the T90 are called EDT 90M, but it's listed as unavailable or discontinued almost everywhere I look.

I only found cheap ones that suppose to be compatibility with the T90 on ebay, I had a hard time my self trying to find them.

EDT 90M seems right:

Listed as new, so maybe there's some confusion about availability.

I did come across that one. What's curious is that you can order them on the North American and German website (but they only deliver to specific countries), but not the (Western) European site

 - or any of the other regions for that matter. The item is listed there, but you can't buy it.

I'm using DT880 pads with my T90 right now, can't really hear the sonic differences tbh. Or maybe I just didn't care to. :p

Comfort might depends on the user.

I tried DT880 and DT770 pads on my T90 some time back.  I did not like or care for the change in sound, though perhaps some may like it.

Got my T90s today.. definitely brighter then the X2s will continue to have a listen over the coming weeks. They do sound great after an hour listen. Tried a few genres and most have sounded pretty good.
