Quick impression.

Just got them so no burn-in.

My normal go to  cans are my Denon d7000s with modded ear pads.

The bass is not sub bass level of the denons but its very controlled (comparing) and clean.

Midrange is very natural (no bloat from the bass).

The highs are so sparkly its beautiful. I can see why people would say the highs are to much for them but if you are use to fun headphones they sounds just right. If you are coming from cans like HD650s these will take some time to adjust.

One more thing, they are very revealing. If the song is recorded bad, boy you will hear it.

Now to burn in these bad boys.

Dammit why must Beyer make me choose between the improved depth of the T1's angled drivers and the amazing detail of the T90's that everyone is raging about!!! Grrrrrr. I want them both. In a single headphone! :)

Sorry, I should have clarified that I upgraded from T90 to T1 after owning the T90 for two or so months. T1 really does everything better IMO, except for slightly less bass quantity. The treble is significantly smoother, which was my only real complaint against the T90s.

Very interesting. Thanks for that. Have you heard the DT880? If so, how would it compare to the T90 and T1 in terms of the bass quantity and treble smoothness that you mentioned?

And how do the soundstages on the T90 and T1 compare?

Thanks man. This is good info. I love my DT880s and am looking for what would be the best step up from there. I've always wanted to get the HD800 but I may try the T90 or T1 first.

Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to hear any version of the DT880.

As for soundstage between T1 and T90, it wasn't something that left a deep impression on me when I switched. I'd say they are probably relatively close, at least as far as depth/width go (could have been my music too, or just something that I'm not particularly picky about). Placement and positioning is better with T1 though.

A lot of people, as I'm sure you've read, say that the T90 is 95% of the T1 or something for half the price. They're definitely similar, but 95% is a bit generous in my opinion. At half the price though, I think the T90 are great.
