I meant dfkt's D2 graph, not your T5P graph.  How would I lose that one already?

Oh! I'm sorry, here it is: D2 rmaa. The roll-off looks pretty steep with the .5 dB resolution.

#2467 is here.  i did spend some time with it last night.  first it was amping it with a corda head-fi playing xbox.  nothing to talk about because really nothing to talk.    bad "source" to begin with.  later, amping it with rb010b, a little flat to me, bass a little lose.  maybe not enough burn-in?  of course i think i only had it for maybe 4, 5 hours.  will take it outside with me later today.

First of all try them with a good source and a powerful amp before they get burned in. When I got mine they were extremely hard to use with my X Series Wnotalkman and required a lot of power to get the best out of them. Now after around 300 hours they are much easier to drive and sound much better from the X. They do however get a lot better with my Stepdance.

As for the bass, I would not say it is loose. I would say it is not very powerful, but not loose.

of course, "head-fi" the headphone amp isn't very powerful at all(that's why i use it with xbox).  i do believe rudistor rp010b isn't too bad of an amp.  the source is an opera consonance reference cd2.2 .  to me, the bass does sound a bit loose.  i remember the one i heard before had stronger and tigher bass.  treble is kind of roll off.  i do believe in burn-in a little bit.  at least that's what happened to my other beyers before.  that shouldn't take long.  to me, my t1 took about 50 to 100 hour.  right now it has about 8, 10 hours

forgot, i did take it out and using it as a portable headphone.  my previous portable headphone was hfi-780 so this one isn't that big at all.  at least lighter than t1 so it's comfortable(enough).  i'm amping it with a pico slim and sr71a.  i think for sr71a, mid gain seems to sound the best.

I hope you will like them. I have been uing mine for 2 months now and even though they are not the most portable cans out there the sound (at least for me) makes up for the weight and size.

my second day/thought, stepdance might sound pretty good with t5p as corda always pair good with beyer.  right now i've tried pico slim, sr71 and sr71a and i like the slim the least.  i still have a c&c box xo.  might give it a try.  stepdance too.

ok, today, after a couple hours of burn-in/use last night.  i notice things seem open up a lot.  a but harsh though.  specially the treble.  didn't think it was there yesterday.  maybe why i though they're a little flat yesterday.

Treble harshness will go away after around 100 hours.

Yeah due to treble induced hearing loss.

Did I say in a hundred years of listening or in a hundred hours? ;)

The point being of course that our ears undergo burn-in too. In headphones it usually means good things, with ears - not exactly, we get older and we hear less.

I do wonder all the time though to what extent burn-in means our ears getting used to the specific sound characteristics of a headphone. The same as with bad smell in a place our brain gets bored with it and stops registering it, maybe we get bored of the harshness and stop registering it?

I have however let other people listen to T5ps recently and no one complained about harshness, whoch probably means burn-in is the good thing here.
