Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro - Limited Edition, 32 Ohms

The 32 has more forward mids and slightly less midbass. It isn't as much of the "thump and sizzle" monster like the 80 ohm, but I think its also slightly more versatile genre-wise and does vocals a smidge better. The 80 has a slight edge in soundstage/openness.

Really though they are more alike than different, the voicing is basically identical and the overall tonality is similar, just a dB or so difference in different ranges IMO.

Which is better when amped? In this case, there seems to be no incentive to get the 32 over 80? - Basically no difference?

Just bought a Sennheiser 598 headsets and im no bass addict but this set has ZERO bass. It feels like im wearing basic earpads. The sound clarity is extremely good but i need more power and beat in a headset since i use it for gaming and movies as well.

Read alot about DT770 beeing good with bass? Is it alot better than these Sennheiser?

What's your source and amp? All of the midrange Senns improve bass tightness and impact with some good juice.

The DT770 is very different; I had both at the same time, and I think I used the DT770 most of the time. I now have the HD650, which is basically the HD598 but more detailed and with just the right amount of bass, and I never use the DT770 any more.

The DT770 definitely has more bass, but it's also a very, very different sounding headphone over all, so if you like everything else about your HD598, I would maybe look at the HD558 first or, if you have a good amp and source, the HD600/650.

go to amazon to find the valour pads. BTW, faux leather pads have better base, not bad when I put them on the 80ohm

650 is basically a 598 with deeper, punchier bass, less emphasized upper mids, and better overall definition and detail. The overall tonality is more similar than different, but the HD650 is more refined and bassier and has a more speaker-like sound. I liked the HD650 more than the HD598, although if the HD598 just had deeper, punchier bass, I would prefer it.

I have just the Asus Xonar Essence STX which can amp up to 600 ohm.
HD650 you feel it has enough bass? I really love the sound of 598's but its just lacking too much bass for my taste.
