Possibly, the beyerdynamic changed something in the design of the 1770 in new batches. I had two copies of these headphones and both of them played out very loudly.
Using your phone or dam/amp?

Beyerdynamic didn't change DT 1770.
I've got DT 177X GO, DT 770 Pro 32 and Custom One Pro+. DT 177X GO is louder than the other two. Not by much, but audibly louder.
Sealing is good on all (not wearing glasses).
Tried DT 770 Pro and Custom One Pro+ pads on DT 177X GO. No difference in "loudness".

I had no idea there is a actual 1770X GO. Can't find it on Beyerdynamic's official store and Amazon US says within 1 to 3 months?

It’s a Drop.com exclusive. There’s a thread that’s been going around on here but it’s pretty quiet. Not very popular it seems but a good can. I like my pair.
Pro: a "better" tuned DT 1770; treble taken down a notch and transition mid - bass - sub bass is smoother.
Con: it's delivered without the DT 1770 case.

Yeah really kind of annoying they didn’t include any accessories other than the sheepskin pads. But I got a Slappa case from Amazon and they run about $20 so not too bad.

Received the Dekoni leather pads and I really like what its done cosmetically and functionally. Isolation is great. The headphones look great with the pads !

Update. After a few days of burn in, I gave these a critical listen and sadly I won't be keeping them. It has plenty of mid-bass but it doesnt render sub-bass well in my listening. The mid bass also bleeds into the mids. The treble also bothers me. I was hoping to use these as my work cans. I still really like the DT150 and find them a lot more balanced and accurate.

Its not a fair comparison I know but I was using the Fostex TH900 mk2 at work and wanted something with a bit more isolation. I gave my Fostex a listen after these and omg its no contest. Ordered the dekoni pads for my Fostex which I hope will bring some more isolation and sticking with my Fostex and DT150 for work use.

Is the 1770 Pro better than the 770 Pro? Or should I stick to my current ones?
