Beyerdynamic Custom Ones! New Beyer headphones!

Question for Custom One users:

Is there any way to increase the isolation of the COP closer to the 770M ? Does the 770M just have a stronger band for clamping or or are pads thicker.

I'd like to use these on the plane, but at 18dB, they're not quite like QC15 with passive and active noise cancellation.
QC15 is ~ 20 active 20dB passive, depending on frequency.

The 770M has 35dB of isolation. I just don't want to suffer for hours on a plane with the COP if the 770M is better. I don't want to sacrifice the extra bass capability of the COP for the rest of it's use.

The COP and DT990M have different earpads.
See the picture.

backside of the COP earpads have many punch holes,
AND EDT770s (I think it's for DT770M) have only one hole for each.
I guess this difference affects isolation.

I'm not sure but, you may have chance to increase isolation to some degree
if you change COP's stock earpads to EDT770s.

FYI.

Hi,

The Magnolia by me has a pair of T1 and HD800's out on display. They also have some K550's, K701's, and some other Audio Technica headphones. They have a whole wall dedicated to Audioquest stuff as well.

Ooh Nice, I've still not been to mine >.>

Hi,

They don't sound that good at all. I don't know what they are amping them with as the cables go into a cabinet. So either the amp or source is to blame. They were using Diana Krall to demo them but her music sin't to my liking at all.

I doubt they will sound very good in that noisy environment.

I received the DT770 Pro Limited 88 Edition last week but haven't had time to listen to it and compare it to the COP

I'm trying to get my paws on it.  Please let us know your impressions.

I thought you had a COP?  Oh wait, you meant the DT770 Pro Limited right?

Yeah, the DT-770 LTD packaging would look real nice in an unboxing video.

Just ordered a pair of these while I wait for my preorder M100s.  Hopefully these will satisfy my need for a nice sounding headphone that I can game with.  I've got a V-MODA speakeasy cable that I can use for voice, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks to everyone for their impressions...stoked to get these since they are only 150 via Amazon.  Half the cost of the V-MODAS.  Wonder if the M100s are twice as good?

I'm confused about these.
What are they exactly?
How are they compared to the DT990

The Beyer COPs are low impedance, only 16-Ohm, which are not really a good match for use with sound cards and motherboard built in audio (both have high impedance).
Use with portable audio would be a better match.
