I actually noticed when pairing the r3 with the mojo that the output level was significantly reduced compared to feeding it from other daps or a computer. I am now still using a Pono player in balanced mode to run my amirons for a couple years and it is one of my favorite pairings for portable use
Yes? which dap would you recommend me?
I have hiby r3 usb-coax output to the mojo, why should not it play well?

Hey cirodts, what you are talking about is the midbass forwardness of the Amiron. This is just part of stock sound of this headphone. I also find the Amiron too midbass forward. Give my EQ set that I created for the Amiron a try and let me know what you think. I think you will be impressed with the difference, as it makes the headphone sound more balanced and neutral.

Pre-Amplfying: - 2

63Hz: + 0.5
100Hz: - 1
125Hz: - 1
160Hz: - 1
200Hz: - 1
250Hz: - 1
315Hz: - 1
1kHz: + 0.5
1.25kHz: + 1
1.6kHz: + 1
2kHz: + 1
2.5kHz: + 1
3.15kHz: + 1
4kHz: + 1
8kHz: - 0.5
thanks, I'll try later.

Now I tried on your EQ, actually the sound is already much better thanks, tomorrow I'll try after the last burn-in.

No problem, enjoy the headphones. The Amiron is fully burned in at 50-60 hours, so if you have reached that point, the sound will not change. I love this headphone though. Once it is EQed the way I like, it sounds awesome. The Amiron responds better to EQ than any other headphone I have owned. It will allow the user to equalize it however they want without producing any hint of distortion.

Now reading around the forums for the r3, it seems I was having a similar issues as others... the r3 still has volume control and gain active even when connecting to mojo with usb or coaxial. So the recommendation is to ensure the EQ is off, volume on r3 all the way up and gain=H, then control the volume with the mojo.

Now I need to find a place that will 3d print one of those fancy cases that hold the r3 and mojo together. It's still a tossup as to which headphones I prefer with the pono balanced output vs with the mojo.

Thanks for the advice, because I do not have to use the EQ I will not have a bit-perfect signal?

Hi,

I have a cheap offering for the Amiron Home. However, the cable is missing. Would a cheap insert cable like these work?

https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_sssnake_sk3153_insertkabel.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6IjIiLCJsYW5ndWFnZSI6ImVuIn0=

No, that cable wouldn't work, it looks like it is 6.3mm in the headphone end, and that is too big

Try the less expensive Meze cables, those work really well! :)

I haven't found anything less expensive that worked quite as well so far.
