I will add too, that the Nightowl is one of the least fatiguing headphones you will find it its treble response. Of course, the Amiron Home is also not harsh in the treble at all. The Audioquest headphones are right up your alley.

seems nice,
you know what is the difference NightHawk vs NightOwl ?
mayby u hear the Sundara ?

The Night Owl is closed. The Nighthawk is open and was introduced first.

I have the Nighthawk and find it very comfortable and non-fatiguing. I have too much gear but I will always keep my Nighthawks.

I was messaging with lior777 earlier. He is aware the Nighthawk is open. He is wanting to know the specific differences in the sound of the two headphones. I have never heard the Nighthawk, so can't give my input on that.

Well I got a T1.2 just in, I get the feeling this will replace the Amiron for me. I had a T1.2 in the past but some reason it was always too bright and lacked transparency, a friend of mine who listened to my old pair told me it was likely a bad pair so I decided to finally give the T1.2 another shot, I am loving this one immediately. I'm playing it out of the same system as the previous pair, but the level of bass is completely different and it's much darker than the previous pair. I'm finding offers another level of detail, layering, and dynamism over the Amiron and like the Amiron plays well with everything but also offering more insight in the music. Tuning wise it seems to be somewhere in-between the Amiron and DT 1990 but smoother in the treble. I'll update impressions compared to the Amiron in the future.

Hey kman, how are you finding the soundstage compared to the Amiron ?

I haven't had a lot of time to listen to them yet so no full impressions yet and they are still breaking in, I'll update in the future, I usually like spending about 3 weeks of moderage/heavy usage on a headphone before making a review. Soundstage is a moderately bigger, maybe about 15-25% larger on my system, I find it's the imaging is where the bigger difference is. The T1 has always been more about exceptional imaging in my experience. The T1.2 has larger and more precise imaging which may make the soundstage not sound as big as it really is, the image is a bit smaller on the Amiron and DT 1990, the DT 880/990 are notably smaller in terms of image size(how big each sound is). My DT 480 has the largest image size and soundstage of all my headphones. Soundstage on the T1.2 is just right to my ears, it suits whatever track is being played.

This is how I would rate the best Beyers I've owned(that I can recall properly, the DT 1770 I had too long ago and it was defective but when it was working I liked it more than the DT 990 - 600 Ohm) in these respective categories. This may change with different systems but this is my current impressions. T1.2 impressions most likely to change of the headphones listed.

Soundstage size:
1.) DT 480 - 25 Ohm(modded)
2.) T1.2
3.) Amiron Home/DT 1990(Analytical pads)
4.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm
5.) DT 1990(Balanced pads)
6.) DT 480 - 25 Ohm(stock)

Imaging quality/precision:
1.) DT 480(both stock and modded)
2.) T1.2
3.) Amiron Home/DT 1990(A pads)
4.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm
5.) DT 1990(B pads)

Image size:
1.) DT 480(both stock and modded)
2.) T1.2
3.) DT 1990(B pads)
4.) Amiron Home
5.) DT 1990(A pads)
6.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Transparency and Clarity:
1.) DT 480(both stock and modded)
2.) Amiron Home/T1.2(?)*
3.) DT 1990 Pro(both pads)
4.) DT 990 - 600 Ohms.
*T1.2 still new

Dynamic slam(overall) and Tactility. Rankings are the same so I combined them:
1.) DT 480(modded/stock)
2.) T1.2
3.) DT 1990(B pads)
4.) Amiron Home
5.) DT 1990(A pads)
6.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Dynamic slam(bass):
1.) T1.2
2.) DT 1990(B pads)
3.) Amiron Home
4?) DT 480(modded, hard to place, how it presents bass is completely different).
5.) DT 1990(A pads)
6.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Treble and Bass Extension:
1.) T1.2
2.) Amiron Home
3.) DT 480(?)*
4.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm
5.) DT 1990(A and B pads)**
*Unsure of actual extension the driver is capable of.
**The DT 1990 lacks a little treble extension, great bass extension.

Tonality/Timbre:
1.) DT 480
2.) T1.2
3.) Amiron Home
4.) DT 1990(both pads)
5.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Smoothness:
1.) T1.2
2.) Amiron Home(treble isn't quite as smooth as the T1.2's)
3?) DT 480(hard to place, a bit raw sounding but has the least grain of all my headphones)
4.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm(treble sharpness mars the overall great smoothness)
5.) DT 1990(slight roughness/abrasiveness in the lower treble).

Driver speed and detail:
1.) DT 480
2.) T1.2
3.) Amiron Home
4.) DT 1990
5.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Wow! Factor:
1.) DT 480
2.) T1.2
3.) DT 1990(B pads)
4.) Amiron Home
5.) DT 1990(A pads)
6.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm

Fun factor:
1.) DT 1990(B pads)
2.) DT 480
3.) T1.2
4.) Amiron Home
5.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm
6.) DT 1990(A pads) - kind of boring

Easy listening:
1.) Amiron Home
2.) T1.2
3.) DT 480(lower listening levels)
4.) DT 1990(A pads)
5.) DT 1990(B pads)
6.) DT 990 - 600 Ohm
