As I'm sitting here now enjoying another batch of my as yet unperfected Home-brew,I feel the need to offer some tips for maximum enjoyment of your Root Beer.
.Never, ever drink Root Beer over Ice.This is blasphemy.
.Drink from a frosted mug-Frost mug by placing in freezer for about 20 minutes, removing and lightly coating the interior with cold water and replacing in fridge for 5 minutes or so.this will assure a frothy, long lasting head.
.Chill Root Beer for a few hours before drinking.
.Never allow Brewed Root Beers to rewarm after being chilled.
.When pouring into a frosted mug, biggest frothiest(is that a word?) head is obtained by tilting mug and pouring brew to rear of the mug, building the head as you pour without pouring through it.This will give a great head that will last to the bottom of the glass.
.When making Root Beer floats, use only the best vanilla ice cream, such as Ben and Jerry's or Breyer's.Root Beer that is slighty warm seems to offer the best float heads and a float glass is mandatory.Never use a straw, this too is blasphemy.
.Share your Root Beer.I find few better pleasures than watching my rugrats lick off a "Root Beer Mustache".I also love to trade local brews with other Root Beer lovers and will be sending out my homebrew when I get it the way I want.
