I'm relatively new to classical music and I just finished listening to Beethoven symphony no. 7 and wow. Just wow.

I need better earphones than my current Klipsch S4.
I'm going to be listening to orchestral and violin concerto's mostly.
What are the best for this at around $200?

he is a violinist himself so he might be able to offer an option or two
 
as for my own experience. Ortofon eQ5 are really great for classical music as well as, DBa-02, HJE900, Re252, DDM

Fischer DBA-02 are excellent on everything but bass. To be more specific, engineered bass. $160+shipping, killer deal
 
Sennheiser IE8 used, I've seen some ie8 on sale in this forum for around 220, you can't go wrong with sennheiser on classics
 
Hifiman RE262, these earbuds comes with 150 ohm. yes 150 on these IEM. Complaint were made on lack of bass, but thats non of your
concern. These run at $150+shipping; its a steal
 
Etymotic ER-4S are deep ear insertion. These run around $180 but you do need an amp to run these on full potential
 
Phiaton PS 200 runs $200. Heard good things about them, never experienced it myself

add a $100 and get an SM3. I adored my ones with both large scale orchestral classical, and orchestra + soloist (violin or piano) . Plus they're easy to drive.
