These look that they could be very good… to bad they are so expensive…
Just ordered a pair of Spinfit cp145. If the are not to my liking I will order Final E.
I thought Dunu s&s were very good but they are not better than fiio or trn tips…
btw I need them for my Hidizs MP145 and Fiio JD7.
So I've been interested in getting the Pentaconn COREIR eartips for awhile, but I've been seeing a lot of fitment issues, and considering it's 50 USD pricetag, I put it on hold for now. Then I stumbled upon these metal coil thingies in my drawer and came up with this idea.
A word of caution: before trying this, there's a possibility of the metal tube damaging the mesh on the nozzle or slipping out of the eartips. I'm not liable for your injury or damage to your property.
It's a very simple procedure. I just placed the metal tube thingy inside the stem of the eartips. Finding eartips that will fit is easy for me because I have a lot of stock tips lying around that I don't mind experimenting on.
The first thing I noticed an overall improvement in sense of separation and detail, especially the bass response, while using these with my IEMs.The bass is more punchy, with enhanced texture and feel, while the mids and highs are clear and detailed. But it decreases the soundstage quite a bit, making it sound more intimate. The metal core really helps deliver detailed and holographic sound at the expense of soundstage. Not bad for a DIY experiment.
I've been using Spinfit CP100 for years as my go to, but needing some with waxguard for my Sony WF-1000XM5 I tried some Azla SednaEarfit Max Standard and now using those instead. Really comfy, great seal, better passive isolation and seem to get no ear itching, plus the excellent wax guard bit.
My WF-1000XM5's and Fiio FD7 with the tips fitted.

Thank you! And sorry, I just found them rolling around my DIY drawer while doing another project; they're must've been in there for a long time that I forgot what they're for.

In case anyone is wondering, or you want to try this yourself, those thingies are called “helicoils” or more generically “threaded inserts”. Maybe I’ll try your ingenious idea. I just got some coreir tips and I'm not sure I would rather have the $50. I need a little more time with them.

Hi,
Can’t find the CFA on Google or AE. I see some other cheap tips but I don’t know if they are any good. The Divinus are really expensive. Also I see tips that have brass. 56,- euro for 2 pairs. Unbelievable.
How does everyone feel about Spinfits?
I have a large-ish eartip collection and I think they're decent tips, but not great. They do fit well but with most Spinfit models I find them to dull the details a bit so they're not my first choice. Of course, to my ears.

I bought Spinfit after some tips from this thread. They will arrive in a couple of days. I tried general tips that came with my IEM’s, Fiio tips (vocal, balanced, bass), TRN T-tips, Dunu S&S, Whizzer tips, generic foam, Comply foam, TRN foam, Bgvp foam and Kz foam but I don’t seem to find tips that lower the treble. To be honest , beside some small differences in sound, they basically all sound the same to me. I am a crappy audiophile
