Hello once again, Head-Fi,

Today, I have a question that I need some opinions on. I have recently bought headphones that are over 100-200 US dollars, and I find that some headphones that are under 100 US dollars seem to be more fun to "play around with" (like, getting them to produce a different sound at different frequencies)

I listen to a lot of bass-heavy music, but occasionally, I do enjoy classical and even some jazz. And I have set myself a challenge... What headphones can I buy for under $25 that will give me the best overall sound?

I have looked all over the forums and haven't found a quite definitive answer for myself. I hope there are some Head-Fiers out there that can help me. You guys have been crazy awesome when it comes to responses, I hope that never changes.

Thank you, guys. Looking forward to some responses, if any at all.

The Koss KSC75 has long been regarded as one of the best buys in this price range.  They are a clip on model though, so that may not suit you.  You can get a $4 headphone at Amazon and put the KSC75 on that band if you prefer.

Also, as long as you're looking at Koss, the KTXPro1s aren't too shabby.  Well worth it at just a notch above $15:

I'll have to pitch in for the PRO-700 mentioned above. I became interested in them after seeing them at a listening station at an exhibit about 9/11 in New York, and have loved them ever since buying.

Thank you all so much. I love the idea about the headband adapter for the Koss clips, and I like that the Pro700's are bass heavy. And the HTF600's sound great too. Will be looking into all for the future. Also, any more posts would be appreciated!

Holy cow, Xander. I had no idea something like this existed. O_o You just blew my mind a little bit.
Oh, and how do they sound? Are they bass heavy at all?

The htf's have a nice strong bass line without being bloated on bleeding much into the mids. You can also buy velour pads for them later...
