For the Monoprice 8323's ...here's a trusted member's mod that sounds like it works well. Step by step with impressions.

If you want to stick to that mod to a "T" then I can send you some of that tan velour stuff ( I sent it to him ), but you could always ask Armaegis if he feels it's necessary and if he changed the scheme up in any way after this.
You can always look into optional earpad replacements later on.
Of course there's that Panasonic too.
If you're lucky you might even find a Superlux used or on sale.
