I need a pair of headphones for college, so I don't disturb my roommate. What are the best headphones for around $50? They can be new or used.

Check out some of the reviews that were posted here about a week ago. They sell the same can with a Kicker sticker on it for $55 and people loved it. But for $21 it's a STEAL

How does this pair compares to the ATH-AD700s? I once saw them on sale for ~$60. Are they a dramatic improvement? Which headphones could the Kickers compare to?

AD700s are open, so there will be leakage and you will end up disturbing your roommate. Sony v6 are good closed cans that go for under 50 if you can find them refurbed.

I've got some Kicker HP541's with dark burlwood removable vinyl decals, mint, for $40 shipped, comes in original box with carry bag and both cords and adapter. Check out the review, those are the exact headphones I'm selling (bought them to review).

Try to find the Beyer Dynamic DT-235, Maxell DHP-II. These are my favorites.
Honestly I'd suggest spending another $20-$30 and getting the Koss Pro DJ100. Many Best Buy's carry them and you can return them if you don't like them.
The MDR-7506 is also not bad if you can find a pair for $50-$60.

They will be used for music and gaming. I'm probably not going to take them out with me, unless the sound better than the Brainwavz B2s

They're not full size, they're very small, about the size of Koss PortaPros. That's also a crazy price.

I've found the Koss UR-40 to be a decent enough buy, but they are very fragile.
