Well if the Limited Edition doesnt count I would say the ED8 is the best comfort and sounds pretty much FUN !!
But I LOVE L3000's sounds, because it just match my style..
But I think W2002 is the most beautiful..
But the HD800 are pretty much comfort too.

So I would say like this:
w2002 - Most Beautiful BUT Limited
L3000 - Best Sounds BUT Limited
Edition 8 - Most comfort easy to find tho..

Ultrasone Ed8. For me, its the best headphone ever, except for the Ed9 and PS1000, both which i have not heard.

For me it's clearly Ed 10. Apart from HD 900 and K 1001.

Editon 8 fits the criteria, detailed, reasonable isolation, accurate (for what ever interpretaion one would like to put on this) and simply the most enjoyable headphone I have heard, open or closed. The Pro900 at 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of an Edition is no slouch either, wonderful headphones

At this moment, while listening to some Red House Painters CD's I get the feeling the Denon D5000's are simply the best closed headphones, I cannot imagine anything better

IMO, the Denon D7000s are the best closed headphones out there and one of the top three I have ever heard (including the HD800).

No headphone has ever come this close to sounding like my home theater and with the J$ earpads, they have an incredible sound stage.

The Ultrasones (Pro900) are great for electronica/dance, but I found (just to my ears) too boomy and took away from the mids.

I have had them for a month or so with zero urge to change them. They are incredibly fun, deep and full sounding headphones that I can't say enough about...heck they even get more head time than my beloved RS1s.

The best I've heard is the R10. This past weekend I heard the DT770 PRO 80 ohm. It sounded very good and MUCH better than the consumer DT770 250 ohm. I experimented with source impedance on the DT770 PRO 80 and it sounded better when driven by a lower output impedance.

I've also heard the LA2000 and was impressed by it.

Having been lucky to try most of the HP's mentioned here, I would venture to say that the Stax 4070 Monitors are the best closed headphone in the world, followed by the R10's and then the ed8's.
The fourth on the list are the esw10jpn's which I use for bedroom listening and extended travel, I love them but Im seriously considering replacing them with the ed8's, almost same compactness but a bit better overall. In short:

1. STAX 4070 Monitors
2. R10 and Ed8 (tie)
3. ESW10jpn

I own Ed8, have owned DT770/80 pro, L3000 and LA2000 and have heard R10, DX1000 and W5000 and my favourite for overall performance across genres is Ed8 but some of the others each do certain things or aspects better so it is a hard choice
