Best android music player app?

I don't even have DVC turned on since I am not using any EQ and it still seems to sound better. With DVC on, in my case with no EQ being used, seemed to just make the volume lower.

Poweramp has a feature called dvc which brings out the sound more by leveling frequency volumes. If its off and you have bass boost, whenever bass plays, all other frequencies quieten, which i dislike. Dvc levels out the slightly muted frequencies and then everything sounds great

I tried it again today, the UI is better, but I still prefer Poweramp. I also can't hear a difference between Neutron and Poweramp.

Downloaded the update for Neutron this morning. The UI seems more intuitive to me, easier for me to set EQ, etc. Anyone else have any thoughts? satwilson

to be fair, neutron has always been easy to use.

Actually, electronics are always easy for me to pick up in general. I hate it when people complain about the smallest UI inconvenience. I grew up on windows mobile, DOS, etc. You just learn to cope with issues, learn work-arounds, or you just get used to quirks.

Did they ever change it to allow more than  4 EQ bands? When I tried it the 4 EQ bands was the dealbreaker for me, even before I had really explored all of the UI.

I tried neutron, but couldnt get it to recognize some of my playlists and album art. When I switched over to power amp, all my album art was recognized and playlist synced. I had playlists from zune software, samsung phone, and rockbox. To see all 66 playlists show up was a pleasant surprise.

No, it still has 4 EQ bands. It is parametric not graphic, and the frequency and slope is totally adjustable to your needs. I grew up (I'm 62 years old) using graphic EQ, and it has taken me awhile to get used to parametric. My modded T50RP's don't need much EQ, so the 4 bands work well for me. YMMV, satwilson

I was using Poweramp until a month or two ago, but recently found GoneMad and haven't looked back.  To me the sound quality is just as good, it's extremely customizable and the feature set is great.

GoneMad is also the only player I've found that does a good (or any...) job sorting and grouping with the AlbumArtist tag.

The Poweramp UI may be just a little more polished, but the GoneMad developer is also working on a UI refresh right now.

I've tried to download Noozexoide for my Galaxy S 4.2 player (Wolfson) but google play says its not compatible despite the blurb saying it is  100% compatible with Wolfson Dac's...., oh and I have exact same issue with Viper 4 android FX.
Anyone know of a way around this to at least be able to try them out?
