best amp for hd 800

My recommendation would be the CSP2+ from Decware

I've always been wanting to hear the CSP-2 since it can double as a desktop speaker amp. Just curious, what tubes are you running with the HD800s? I think that amp can take 6922s and I've got a few of those (for use with the Melos). Do you know if you could roll different combinations?

If you are unsure just get the WA5.

I haven't heard one, but the Super 7 is the one I'd choose for your budget. People I agree with give it a thumbs up and owning two Moth/Eddie Current amps, I can vouch for reliability, customer service and build quality.

I also enjoyed the DNA Sonett ($1,200) with the HD-800. It also is of good quality and design.

I found this review very helpful and extremely well written:

The woo stuff is great, especially the wa2 and wa5 . However, if I were you, i would also consider the Schiit Lyr, works well with the HD800 imo and is cheaper, giving you more room to experiment with different tubes which is always fun.
