Hi guys, and girls if theres any out there, im new here so please be nice. im in the market for some headphones but i cant decide since i have no idea how most of the headphones im considering sound. the headphones im considering are:
 
1. Solo HDs by Monster (RED)
2. Phiaton MS 300s
3. Sennheiser 428

. Denon D1000s
5. Denon AHP 372w

I really dont mind paying um to  200 for quality headphones, and ive read about Grados but they just dont appeal to me. i would really appreciate it if you guys would tell me what you think.
ps i listen to everything from rock to rap, and im looking for good bass - not overwhelming- and nice highs and mids. also i heard the solo hds and liked them as far as hip hop goes, but i dont know how they will fare with rock and other types of music.

1. solo hd - dont buy it unless all you care about is thumping bass and drown out highs
2. ms300 - grado like sound but albeit light on bass (go get ms400)
3. senn 428 - havent heard them
3. denon d1k - deep bass but lacks punch, slightly laid back mids, so-so highs

. p372 - havent heard them. though they are a step down on everything you mentioned

The Creative aurvana live are almost exactly the same as the D1000s but cheaper.  The Audio Technica M50s are worth checking out as well.

How light on bass are the ms300, they sure look amazing, i do like bass but i admit the solo hds are too annoyingly bassy, thanks for your opinions, what would you suggest?
