NOK 3650,- for the HD650 is 650,- more than HiFiKlubben charges. And the image of the Beyerdynamic DT-231 is incorrect. So their web site is not very up to date...

On topic: The Sennheiser HD212 are very bassy.

has no one heard koss portapro? that is the only bass i have ever thought was too much - it rattled the manifold that holds the driver to the head so much that with trance i got a plastic grinding sound - for quantity, i think there must not be a superior

They have a lot of bass with bowls, but put flat pads on that bad boy and bask in a ridiculous quantity of bass. I would be amazed if PS-1's had more.

Then be prepared to be amazed.

Having owned both the HHF-1 (Zebrawood) and the PS-1s, the PS-1s eat the HHF-1s for lunch in the Bass department.

Of the phones I have owned or heard over the years thus far, the PS-1 easily wins the 'Bass monster contest' - and that is with Bowls. I don't quite have the stomach to use them with Flat pads.

For lots o' bass that ranges from craptastic to 'barely acceptable':
DT770s, JVC Marshmallows.

Agree with the DX1000s. They have more and better bass than any other can I've heard. So far.

Denons for sure. D2000 or D5000. I must say the amazing bass quality as well.
BTW, Prolines have quite average bass, definitely not bass monsters.

Mid-upper bass, most likely. Deep-sub bass? Thats what my PL650 atleast was all about!

LOL. Remember that the different headphile woods do sound different. My set was Paduak...however, I believe you...but am truly amazed. I would love to pick up a PS-1...but what are they...around $1200?

for all funny people suggestion ps1 etc.... http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showpo...1&postcount=24

I wish!

These days if you can get your hands on a pair for $1,800, it's almost like you got a good deal.

x2 on the DR-150. They have lots of bass and can be easily driven by my iPod once they were burned in. They didn't sound too good until they were burned in. The first thing I happened to listen to with them was Faure's Requiem. I heard low organ notes all the way though the piece that I never heard before. They are open.
