To be fair to Beyerdynamic, you'd need to blast them at pretty unlistenable levels to make them distort. I'd recommend for the previous poster to respect his hearing a little more and learn to listen at lower levels!

They're not the most for your money. They're frankly overpriced for what they are. I say this as someone who has the M50. It's mediocre with a nice build. That's it.

Coolio, looks like you have experienced many many more Hp's then I have.  I just happen to think they sound great for $100.  Best my ears have heard for that price.  but then again there is my inexperience.  Thanks for the feedback.   Would you say the Shure 840's are a better value?
