I've looked at the top 6 threads when you search "Bass Headphones" and looked at all the recommended headphones.  I'm posting this because I don't think that any of those posts were personalized towards me.

I'm looking for headphones with deep bass.  Deep is more important than powerful but powerful is nice too.  I'd like to keep it to Over Ear headphones.

I've had the Skullcandy Skullkrushers:
The bass on these were powerful but not deep at all, were too plasticy.  The bass also sounded somewhat fake when you turned on the magnets.

Sony XB 500:
Amazing headphones, I'd say almost exactly what I wanted in headphones.  Had really deep bass but it was pretty powerful too.  I would get these again, but I want to know what else is out there.  (Got these stolen

I listen to:
Dubstep
Electro
Trance
House
Dance
Almost all techno music but mainly Dubstep.

Where I think other threads have not been personalized enough for me, is when they say they listen to dubstep, they also say they listen to rock, where mids and highs are pretty important.  I take bass over all other frequencies, the bass drop is the most important part of a song for me.

Right now what I'm considering is
Sony XB 500 - Previously owned and liked
Sony XB 700 - Upgraded version of headphones I already like.
Sol Republic - Some new interesting headphones I saw a review of, know nothing else about them, only issue I have with them is that they are on ear and I would like to stick to over ear (http://solrepublic.com/)
Audio Technica pro700 mk2 - Seemed to be highly recommended in other threads and Audio Technica I know is known in the audio industry

I own a FiiO E5 Amplifier that can be used to power any headphones that would require it.

Price Range
The Audio Technica pro700 mk2 are definitely on the top edge of my price range, so max about $160

I'm going to be basing all prices off amazon.com since they have a nice return policy and I know headphones can be very personalized.

Save yourself the money and get a Panasonic HTF600.. Highs mids and full blown bass. Similar to the Xb500 with highs and mids present however.. $30 and currently catching on fire. If you want more info. Check out my thread on them http://www.head-fi.org/t/571005/the-panasonic-rp-htf600-s-headphones-more-fun-than-the-hd650/690#post_7833386  Go to the beginning of the thread for some reviews. There are many guys that own the beats, Xb500, Bass heavy and higher end phones that all end up loving these.. Perfect for Dub. But only cost $30.. Proper phones for your needs at a fraction of the cost..

The Denon AH-D1100 is superb for all electronic music.

Great bass and soundstage, comfortable, portable, no need for amp.

DT 770 pro 80

not sure if the E5 can drive them to their potential though.

the xb 700 or 500 are good for bass but i think overall sound quality clarity and accuracy the 770s best them.  of course with a higher price tag.  but if you watch ebay you can score them relatively cheap

I agree.
The Beyer DT 770 Pro 80 put out a lot of bass, and they're very solid phones otherwise too.

I really enjoy the bass from my DT-770 Pro 80-Ohm (quality bass).
Beyerdynamic U.S.A. sometimes sells refurbished (for a good price) DT-770 Pro 80-Ohm on their eBay listing, "bd-usa".
I like my 80-Ohm so much that I had to go out and get the DT-770 Pro 250-Ohm (more balanced).

So I'm probably going to be getting the DT-770 Pro 80s due to everyones recommendations.  I've been able to find them for 150-160.

I would want to get the most out of the headphones, so if not the E5 what other (hopefully portable) headphone amp should I consider getting?  I have searched around and havent really found any other headphone amps that seem worth it.

Well, I think a Fiio E5 is not enough to drive the FA-011, but I never tryed any of them.
My FA-011 still in Russian customs

, hope they'll arrive next week.

I've ran them straight out of my Cowon J3 and they sound great, not loud enough, but an E5 would work.

Heya,

Closed:

Panasonic RP-HTF600
Denon D1100
Ultrasone HFI 580
Shure SRH750 DJ
Beyer DT770 PRO

Open:

Samson SR850
Fischer Audio FA-011
Beyer DT990 PRO

Overall, I'd get the Panasonic if budget is important. After that, the DT770 PRO if cost is less an issue. And for home use for all purposes, the Fischer Audio FA-011.

Very best,
