YMMV, but bringing a smartphone around with a stacked amp is quite inconvenient (not to mention you might be stopped by security checks haha). But the smartphone can also be limited by battery life and memory (especially if you have lots of lossless files), so that's where a DAP may come in handy, though it involves bringing 2 devices out on the go.
I don't see how my iPhone plus FiiO Q3 is more inconvenient than a DAP and a smartphone. They take up about the same space. My iPhone has tons of RAM. The Q3 runs for hours. I think it is pretty much equal.

Not all phones have good RAM and battery life, I've some friends in other countries that are using low end phones, some can't even accept too high SD card memory.

Chi-fi exists for smartphones as well. :joy:
Some of these 200 usd phones the same amount of ram as even the LG G7 (my phone and LG´s flagship in 2018).

Nowadays, Xiaomi, Huawei, Realme, Poco, Vivo, and Oppo provide 6/8 GB RAM with 128/256 GB internal memory for as little as $200. That too with a mid-range processor which is capable enough to give flagship performance. Their software is total crap and the reason why folks experience performance lags. Although, some brands are banned in US but are easily available in Asia, South America, Africa and Europe.

Personally I've used Redmi devices for over 7 years and I was pretty happy with their price to performance ratio. And with their raw hardware and official support to rooting+modding, I could drive them at par with midrange Samsung phones which were priced almost 3x more than Redmi. Chinese phones are like amps which have replaceable OP Amps. Because with their raw hardware and software optimization via custom ROM community, only sky is the limit when it comes to performance

Indeed, the software is the weak area of these chi-phones lol.

Although it should be possible to mod them with a custom rom with better optimization.

Absolutely. I have edited my post to cover the same and also add my personal experience with them.

The problem is for the regular consumer that dont have the knowledge/skills to do stuff like that. And that rooting and using custom rom can be a security risk.

Oh well, we should drop this now. Straying quite far from topic lol.

To get back on track, anyone wanna guess what the price on the DT300 and the DT600 will be?

DT300 = 200 usd
reason: DT100 is 110 and the DT200 is 150 usd, adding another driver should place it around 200 usd and thats around the price of the other 3 BA iems.

DT600 = 300 usd
reason: BGVP DM8 and their own T800 is priced around this price. And going above that price range means it will compete with the Dunu SA6 which seems to be a great iem.

Havent heard anything about a T800 pro. Only heard about the DT300/DT600.

Just bought Audiosense T800. What you think about this 2.5mm balanced cable? My ears are not sensitive enough to pick up any improvement of upgraded cables, I just want to try balanced cable with low budget.

I have this cable in several variations and it does the job just fine. It's pretty supple. My only negative comment is that it's not the prettiest.

*For perspective, not debate: this is coming from someone who doesn't believe in cables making a sound difference, unless it's trash (high resistance -- broken).

I have a couple of these cables on my cheaper IEMs. The cable is just a normal regular cable. This cable however is a little bit too flimsy. ( And feels very cheap )
However like i said, this is just a normal cable, as in, this cable doesn't improve or change the sound at all. ( None of these cheap cables do )

For just a regular and balanced cable, i'd personally recommend the FAAEAL 4 core cable.
