HD800 probably needs to be a little more high-strung, and blonde.

But what about the AQ Night Hawk, looks Italian to me . . .

Hmmm, probably a bit too complimentary on the HD800...

No kidding. I've kicked the HD800 out of bed countless times.

I do l like the fact that the Nighthawk looks different and not like other phones.....you realize that it was designed from the ground up and it's not some run of the mill Chinese design with a big-ticket brand name stamped on it.

What were the HD800s doing in your bed? :D
Sorry man, couldn't help it :)

Alright everyone, those were some good laughs but Head-Fi is for headphones (and this thread is for the NightHawks)...

Skylar,

Some questions about the cable that comes with the NightHawk. First: What is the length of the cable?

Second: According to the Audioquest info, the cable that comes with the phones will be terminated on the amp end with an 1/8" plug and a 1/4" adaptor. You stated that there will also be a cable with a 1/4" plug and a cable with a balanced connector available. Will the 1/4" cable and the balanced cable have to be purchased separately, or can the phones be ordered with whichever cable the buyer wants?

Last: Are the connectors that plug into the cups also 1/8", the same as Oppo and the Sennheiser HD700 use?

Good questions...

NightHawk's included cable is 8ft. (~2.4m) and terminated at the amp-end with an 1/8" (3.5mm) plug. Of course, you also get our 3.5mm-->1/4" adaptor.

We are considering production methods which would allow the customer to choose cable terminations, but this is a tricky endeavour logistically. Initially, we will ship the above cable and adaptor with NightHawk and make other cable terminations available separately.

The NightHawk cable is terminated at the opposing, earcup-end with dual 2.5mm plugs. The HD700 and Oppo headphones also use dual 2.5mm connections at the earcups.
