Who else could have built headphones with such advanced tech?!

Here's why it's clear to me that they we're pretty out to lunch with this review:
1) They didn't understand head-tracking, saying gamers don't move their head side to side much. But that's not the point. Tiny micro-movements helps the brain isolate exactly where the sound is coming from. Jude and the gamer head-fi dude (lol, sorry forgot your name) mentioned it wasn't until you stopped triiping out and moving your head around that you settled into it's real usefulness and it becomes natural.
2) They said they just turned the head-tracking off and then that the Asus had better surround sound. You can't turn the head-tracking off without also turning off the room emulation. basically you turn off surround emulation......even if you still can get multiple channels.....which I am not really sure if you can.
3) They thought $399 was a discounted price only available during pre-sale and that the Mobius was normally more expensive. They then went on to recommend other possible gaming headsets (like a $350 dollar one that "didn't have as good sound") based on assumed price and one with "better surround sound".

They didn't really seem to have a very thorough understanding of what they were reviewing and I have to wonder how long they even really played with it, while they we're not using it correctly. The video reviewer also complained about there being "too many functions" :p and wanted it streamlined, again demonstrating not understanding it's functionality at all.

Total waste of a read or an opportunity to review the Mobius IMO..... :)

Yeah I have to completely agree with this. I'm a competitive gamer and the ability for the headset to track your head is huge. I don't get why anyone would even bother disabling a feature that could be helpful when it has no negatives. To me as a gamer, it seems even more crazy. I could understand if it adds latency but it doesn't.

Head-Tracking is fairly new. We expect a quite a few people will have different opinion on the usage of these. When we introduced the LCD-2 a while ago, it was a very polarizing headphone. Luckily more people liked them. There were quite a few flaming threads on planars missing "1/3rd of the freq. range". The advantage of Mobius is, it does so many different things very well. Just take Bluetooth with LDAC or a closedback planar with DSP. The Mobius being one of the first USB-C headphone gets lost in the conversation. Hopefully people will like atleast one of these features.

Regarding the Masterswitch review - It was an early preproduction version (From the same set as Jude and MLE). The main complaints seem to be
1. The buttons are quite comples - This is correct. We had to cram a lot of features into the 3 buttons. But the availability of the accompanying software will alleviate some of the issues, since you can control the headphone from the software
2. Head-tracking - You can turn on/off the 3D audio. For example if you want to use Atmos in Overwatch, disable the 3D on the headphone and enable it in the game.

Thanks for the update, @Audeze. Really excited for the Mobius. It'll be my first Audeze headphone (named after my favorite movie too, happy to learn). As an early bird backer, will we be a part of the initial shipping run? Obviously not a big deal if we aren't. Just trying to not get my hopes up if we're not.

I never liked Audeze headphones. I have owned both LCD2 and LCD3F, the lack of energy towards upper mids/treble region really annoys me. LCD X is marginally better in that regard.

But I went ahead ordered two mobius, since I need some closed back headphones that doesn't require anything more than a phone.

Thanks. But what's the size of the first batch? A small number of headphones? A few tiers?

Kewl kewl kewl ... that's both groups [all] of Phase 1. It was stated the remainder will ship soon after. That includes me in 'Be the Early Bird' at the start of phase 2. WHOO HOO. Definitely will be getting this before the Smyth A16 that I ordered like 2 years ago. LoL !

LOL I was hoping to get my Mobius in time for my vacation in July, that did not happen. At this rate, I won't get my Mobius for my second vacation in August. Shame, tsk-tsk-tsk...
But on the bright side, you get two back to back vacations lol! Hopefully your vacations aren't in the places currently melting... if you are in Hawaii perhaps you can just stop by the @Audeze office and borrow a pair .

I confirmed that https://www.youtube.com/bitwit will do a Mobius review, and so that he can unbox on camera (he is great at b-roll porn) I will be shipping my pair unopened the day that I receive them. I am not complaining because this is 100% my choice, but I won't get to experience mine for quite a while yet (I am in Ride the Waves tier ($259), so dunno where we are in the schedule yet). Knowing this is actually helping me not be so anxious about the minor delays .

I also plan on sending him another pair of Audeze for comparison purposes. He hasn't had a pair of Audeze for any significant period of time(more than a few minutes at a show), so he will really being doing two reviews and a comparison I guess. The ones that I have that make sense to consider comparing are the LCD3NF, LCD-XC, and EL-8 Titaniums (w/Cipher). If I ship him the LCD-XC to compare with, it would be because they are the closed backs closest to the Audeze "house sound" of the LCD2 & LCD3 that made them famous. This would be for him to be able to compare LCD-XC to Mobius and describe differences from that "house sound" for better or worse.

OTOH, the EL-8 Titaniums are much closer in price tier so the comparison makes more sense, but I am not sure if these have the same sound that made Audeze famous and fewer viewers are probably familiar with the EL-8 sound(?)... so he wouldn't be able to give his Mobius experiences relative to the traditional Audeze sound signature. Ideally I would send him all three, but he will probably have them for a couple of months to do his review, and I NEED at least 1 pair of closed back Audeze available at all times :D. I was also considering the LCD3s so he could compare to a planar open back to see how successful the Mobius are at recreating the benefits of an open back planar design and the Audeze gold standard sound.

So guys and gals, what would you rather have a review of the Mobius be compared to? LCD-XC, EL-8 Tits, or the wildcard LCD3?

The only reason the first shipment was originally limited to 150 was that it was going to be shipped from California. There's really no reason to conclude that the number shipped so far was only the original first 150. We don't have specific information at this point.

It's pretty safe to conclude (I'd like to think anyway) that at least the initial 150 units have probably started shipping. Hopefully people will report getting email notification with tracking numbers soon. We have at least two regular contributors here in the first 50 early bird tier. So we should know shortly after they are notified.

LCD-XC is the best option for a comparison since Mobius was tuned with the LCD-X in mind.

I will move out of the address I listed on Indiegogo on August 31st and move into a new address on Sept. 3rd. So if my headphones are not on track to arrive before Aug 31st, I would need to change my address.

The problem with this is I have no way of predicting whether they'll arrive before or after August 31st until Audeze sends me a tracking number, at which point it'd be too late to request a different shipping address.
So depending on how fast the shipping is from China and how fast Audeze's rollout is (I'm #3218), there's a good chance my headphones will get refused by the postal service and get sent all the way back to China before I can get them shipped back to my new address :/

Except it doesn't sound very good, and from foggy memory not even close to the LCD-X.

Doesn't sound very good? Not everyone will agree with you on that.....
https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/review-audeze-lcd-xc-personal-take

Not that they'll sound like the Mobius or the open back variation.....

Yeah for sure. :) I'm a bit surprised tbh, they're among the worst enthusiast cans I've ever tried. Tho it was very briefly and I not exactly fair. Much prefered the LCD2 at the same sitting. Favorite headphones I've ever tried where the LCD4 with the LCDX as my over all favorite (=used prices could be attainable)
