For something different I plugged the lcd5 into my Feliks euforia and I'm thoroughly enjoying the sound.

The Feliks is an OTL amp with an output impedance around 47ohm so not the best partner for the Lcd5; what tube amps should I be looking at to get the most out of this headphone?

Thankyou

Don't try the Woo Audio WA8. It's a fantastic amp for the LCD-i4, but underwhelming for the LCD-5.

I'm sure other Woo amps are great for it though, the WA8 just doesn't do it justice.

So I tried to make the LCD5s work for me, actually I tried them twice, but my right ear is really sensitive and slightest hint of brightness causes a ringing for a day or so (even worse with the HD800/800s). So I have owned LCD4s for about 4 years and they are great, but after trying a few of the new HPs (I know its weird) but I wanted a slightly brighter sound, LOL!. Never been an EQ user, but I gave it a try, initially I thought it was a fix, but eventually it seemed to change the character of the LCD4 in other areas that I didn't like. So back to the drawing board. My gear Bryston DAC and Bryston BHA1 and Tidal Master tracks worked pretty well, but I decided to try a different AMP (since I had cash in my pocket in not buying the LCD5), I purchased the MAC MHA200 tube amp. The MAC really transformed the LCD4 into what I was searching for. Hard to describe, but the LCD4s now have a brighter yet warmer sound, bigger sound stage, and really nice separation of instruments. I went a step further and installed a set of Mullard 12AT7/CV4024 NOS tubes at the recommendation of a review by Bob Levi, and sound is pretty amazing! With the new tubes, the signature reminds me a bit of the LCD5 as the thump from the bass is tighter and not always as present as before, but when a hard bass note is played, you can feel that thump. I know there is know such thing a perfect system, but this is really close for me:o2smile:

I’m with on this one. I recently gave my LCD-4 a go on my MHA200 and I really like the pairing. When I had the LCD-5’s I thought they sounded great on the MHA200’s as well, but they weren’t as full bodied and musical like the LCD-4’s.

Does Audeze have dealer pricing? If so, can anyone PM an independent dealer I can get LCD5 for a good price? Thanks.

You can go to the classifieds and find several open-box grade used LCD-5s, for extremely low prices.

I saw these as well. I'll check out. Do you know if the warranty is transferable?

Warranty is transferrable. Just make sure to get a copy of the original invoice from the original buyer and keep it with you. Otherwise, we'll have to go through manufactured date via serial number which will be earlier, of course.

Here is warranty transfer in full:

As long as the headphones were originally purchased from an authorized dealer, the warranty is transferable and is valid from the original date of purchase. We just ask for proof of that purchase date by using the original purchase receipt. If no original receipt is available, we use the date of original shipment from our warehouse for the beginning of the warranty period.

Here's a recap of our headphone warranty agreement: We cover three years for the drivers and one year for the cosmetic parts of the headphones. (This is for factory defect only, not wear and tear/cosmetic damage from use.) We offer no warranty on eartips or hooks, since those are consumable items. Warranty on Mobius headphones is one year for all parts.

For direct warranty service we cover parts, labor and return shipping, so the only cost to customers is shipping the headphones for repair. Headphones must be serviced by the distributor we sold them to or directly by us here in the US. For that reason we recommend that customers purchase locally when possible so any service needs can also be handled locally by our dealers or distributors. We also recommend verifying service contracts with dealers/distributors before purchase as they are independent businesses and have their own policies in place.

How are y'all doing on production now? I ordered mine from TTVJ about three weeks ago and last I heard you were waiting for new headbands to arrive? I'm anxious to get my pair, though I realize parts shortages are still a thing these days.

would return shipping be covered in this situation below for my LCD-3 and LCD-4?
What I was told for the LCD-4 by Audeze Rep on the ticket
"Unfortunately the period in which these headphones were manufactured correlates to a hard drive failure in which a series of frequency response graphs were lost and are no longer available to us."

What I was told for the LCD-3 by Audeze Rep on the ticket
"Regarding the LCD-3, upon trying to access the graph data for this pair, it's come to our attention that this graph data became corrupted at some point and is no longer readable."

Thanks. If we have an OG headband what is the process to order the looser headband? Will it be free or will we need to pay a fee? If so, how much would it be? Thanks.

Curious how the midrange and soundstage of the LCD5 vs HD600 sounds like. Which one has better forward vocals? Thanks

As per our warranty agreement, shipping to us is the responsibility of the customer. We do pay return shipping to you.

From our user guide:

"What we will not do: Except as stated below, pay shipping, insurance or transportation charges from you to us, or any import fees, duties and taxes. If the Audeze Product is covered by this warranty and is provided to us within the first 30 days of the Warranty Period, then we will reimburse you for shipping charges."
