The past few days have been some of the best times I have had just listening. In the past, there were times where I would have to adjust volume for certain frequencies, areas that would originally make me wince or bass sounded too much or weak and i'd find myself wanting to make a minor tweak here and there. I haven't had to mess with much of anything with so many tracks I visited short of volume due to the recording level. Everything is now so well balanced.

I used to enjoy hearing what these can do and now I love listening to these. They sound just perfect to me now based on what I listen to from Alicia to Cure, Busta, Prodigy, Silk Sonic, Acen, Deekline, random old school stuff and new too. Everything is just so buttery smooth in the highs, mids and vocals are luscious and captivating, bass is just throbbing, punchy and phenomenal. I don't feel I am missing anything with every bit of detail there.

Only using a bass shelf with the filters of 3.5db @ 100Hz Q.71.

You all that are using the filters, what do you think now after some time?

100% agree with this. With the ability to adjust the tonal balance through EQ, sometimes you get in this mindset of "can I make this better?" rather than trying settling down and enjoying the music.

Someone in this thread mentioned that a simple bass boost is enough to help balance with the forward upper mids, and that is basically what I am using now (+3 db bass boost). I know some prefer more present treble, but I actually love the "darker" yet detailed treble presentation of the LCD-5.

Mitch’s convolution filter and a low shelf same as you. It really brings the LCD-5 to their full potential IMO. I find I’m not wanting to tweak anything it just sounds right.

FYI, where your convolution file resides in your system/hard drive will give a different sound.
This might be the most ridiculous thing you've ever posted. I say this as a software engineer. Just because you think you observed it, doesn't make it true or valid enough for you to post stuff like this. It's nonsense. The filter file gets loaded into memory before it's even used. Where you originally keep the file has nothing to do with how it will sound.

LMAO I keep telling people don't feed the trolls. Evan is the king of them, I'm pretty sure he gets off on it.

the most ridiculous thing this guy has ever said is quite a statement given all the utterly ridiculous things this guy says

Pure silver is a must (for my preference). To "neutralize" the forward mid, add treble response and giving more spacious soundstage. This suggestion coming from Copper lover.

Stock cable is a great copper cable. Not bad by any means, but darken the air in treble area too much.
Which cable are you using? Do
You recommend Lavricables?

Most ppl here should try it out with HQplayer and load the convolution file from different folder tree structure level locations. The smoother the response and transparency of the system the more obvious it is. Even having HQplayer.exe on different folder levels sounds different.

I run mine from my Dropbox folder and it really opens up the soundstage and increases dynamics.

Nah, run it from a 3.5" floppy diskette for that vintage sound. Better than tubes.
