Amazing cans for vocals and rock in general. I prefer these rather than the TCs due to overall tonality. I do have a low bass shelf and toned down the mid energy but its refreshing to had a mid forward presentation. I think drums sound more realistic with the LCD5s. They don't have the most soundstage, sub bass, treble energy etc but great can overall. Exceeded my expectations. Once you click into the sound signature it sounds as if you are on stage with the band. Very cool.
That has always been my favorite thing about the LCD line of headphones, the percussion sounds are so realistic. These are great cans for pop and rock.

Chord told me to ask my dealer, so I talked to Moon Audio, from whom I bought the TT2.

Moon Audio suggested I might need an isolation transformer (e.g. Bryston), if my hardware isn't actually defective and it's just dirty power in my home. These cost thousands of dollars and the problem isn't enough to justify that.

So I'm going to just leave it alone.

If anyone comes across a working solution please share. :)
Sounds like your TT2 is faulty ..

Definitely not the TT2, I had the same problem with my Hugo TT... And with the Woo Audio WA8, if it was plugged into power. No problems with any unit if using battery power. And only with Audeze headphones (LCD-5/LCD-i4).

iFi Groundhog or Defender fixed the issue. So did upgrading to a new Mac mini (my old one was 2018).

Oh nice. Sorry probably read out of context. Glad it helped. :)

I’m actually quite interested in these. If these are somehow close enough to the LCD-5, it’ll be quite a no-brainer. I hope my local shop will be carrying it. An Arya Stealth competitor maybe?

I don't think it will compete with the Arya as much as it will make it irrelevant. But I'm biased

As for tuning, I think it will be a less neutrally tuned headphone, based off the earcup design. So we may see this can does not have the same 3k hump that the LCD-5 has, but that could be replaced with a larger 5k dip than the LCD-5. This is all speculation, so don't quote me on this when the FR comes out to be contrary to my prediction.

I think the biggest difference between the LCD-5 and MM-500 will be speed and resolution, although I think the MM-500 will still be much more detailed than the OG LCD-X.

My biggest hope is that the MM-500 has a tuning and timbre of the LCD-R. That would be awesome, since it would not be bound by the Jot-A, which I did not like at all.

Let’s definitely hope for the best lol

I still gotta listen to the LCD-R… Ribbon cans intrigue me as I really like Ribbon tweeters on speakers.

Don't think of it as a traditional ribbon, because it is not. It is a planar driver, but instead of a trace that weave back and forth following the magnets, the traces simply go in once direction across the diaphragm. It has no relation to any of RAAL's tech.

That’s very interesting then!

All the more to try
