For the most part I buy cables because I like how they look. And yes I have bought $1000+ cables. Do I think they sound better than the $200 cable of same material, no. But I could afford it and whatever amp/dac or headphones I wanted. It’s not really a waste of money if you like it and can afford it. My wife thinks any headphones over $100 is a waste. 😁

In the beginning I compared a lot, 1000€ USB cable with 10€ USB cable, Lavricables Grand with Hifimans Grand scrap stick cable, could never hear a difference - but I am quite happy about it, I save a lot of money, that I can invest in nice Amp’s or Can‘s :D

No am talking about comparing different planar headphones in a double-blind ABX test.

Did you really ask about headphone cables or cables in general? Let us see. This is the quote.

Seriously guys, this is the LCD-4 thread.
Please move your discussions regarding cables somewhere else, especially if the cables you're talking about don't even belong to headphones.

If someone believes in cables altering the sound that's fine.
If someone doesn't, that's fine as well.

If you want to convince each other, feel free to do so somewhere else, but not in this thread

Agree. On the LCD4 in 'system tuning' be it cables, amp or Dac, I look for transparency. This IMO on the LCD4 plays with it's strengths and weaknesses. This applies to all hifi gear I guess. The mixing and ultimate ingredients, that is what makes this hobby so fascinating, and sometimes frustrating as well! I am very happy with the DAVE + LCD4, it just sounds very balanced to me, and has super detail with zero fatigue.

An absolutely epic song on the LCD 4. The bass texture and grand scale is off the charts with this song on this headphone.

I normally wear glasses so I just did an A/B test on a heavy bass track and found there is more impact and tightness in the bass when I am not wearing my glasses.
