I wonder how the new LCD-R sounds in comparison to the LCD-4.

LCD-4 has a better presentation, and maybe detail but it’s hard to say because they present detail differently.
LCD-R has better tonality and a lot more timbre, and is more lively, sound is very smooth due to slow decay, presentation is very intimate similar to 6xx.
However, LCD-R is the only intimate headphone I’ve tried that I actually like.

Personally I'd love a Lcdi5, one that I won't have to EQ. I would be content for the next 5 years.

Just so it is not an Estat as was suggested some earlier. I have way too much tied up in my amplifiers to start down that road. Also hope that they keep the 4pin connectors. Again spent too much on cables. Is it time to put the 4 up for sale?
