I have just started listening to my pair of LCD 3 re-cabled with a solid core silver/gold cable. System is a HEX Dac to the Cavalli LAu.

Grooving to Fourplay at the moment......

Brief thoughts are that the LCD 3 is a very mellow, euphonic and sweet sounding pair of headphones. Good sense of spacial cues within a very nicely sized soundstage, which is well differentiated in the x, y, and z axis. There is still the slight mid/upper bass bump which for me is very pleasant and drives the music along very nicely, not as pronounced as it's sibling the LCD 2. I am of the opinion that the sonic presentation is very reminiscent of how a well set up Linn Sondek LP12 sounds through a good system, as I did with the LCD 2, but the LCD 3 has a better arm and cartridge.

I will try and post more detailed impressions at a later stage, and perhaps make comparisons with the Abyss and HD800.

People of the world, I'm sending you this message because of your ignorance to good sound.

People of the world, I'm telling you, HD800 is nothing... it's nothing!

People of the world, I'm in audio nirvana.

People of the world XD

Audeze, Thank you.

This is LCD-3 Appreciation thread.

Not LCD-XC

I don't like closed headphones, I need to get a mobile dac/amp for these, cause I don't mind disturbing others, as these are the only headphones that I can hear to.

I mean seriously... I will have to write a review.
Can anyone please tell me what kind of "Microdetail" or "Microscopic detail" they are talking about when they say the HD800? Maybe they are very picky headphones. But so far, in terms of detail, my LCD-3 have 10 times more detail. The sound is real, true to life, bass is deep and controlled and when it needs to be, Impactful. People here are asking for more bass impact out of the LCD-3, but they don't understand that LCD-3 have special bass, it's real, it's controlled, it's deep, it does beat, only realistically.

Another something, I've heard classical through HD700, and HD800, LCD-3's are so totally owning these, like on another different level.

The LCD-3 have warm sound, black background, like literally... I don't know how blacker can it be, my HD700 are toys next to my LCD-3's. The Sibilance on the HD700 is ridiculous.

I'm in love.

What are AMP/DAC are you using with them? I hope is not the STX :)

It is the STX :(

But I'll be working with Audio-gd most likely then I'll try some other recommendation from other folks, like using speaker amps to power them.

I understand this is just the beginning.

STX with LCD 3 :X I feared so. At this point those LCDs are running at 10%.
Of course you don't appreciate the 800s :) You don't have a source for them.
And speakers amps for the 3s? No no no :)
