Looking at the pictures it looks like there is some foam between the driver and the plastic grill on the cups, are these considered semi-open or open? I remember the DT880 being called semi-open which didn't make much sense to me until I got the K702 and could tell the sound leakage was larger on the K702.

Also would my SRG II have any issues with these?

I think that the grilles are actually metal, and it also appears to be some kind of felt rather than foam just inside the grilles. I haven't opened mine so I don't know what else there is inside. (Don't know how they compare to the DT880 or K702 though)

i peeled the pads off mine yesterday to have a look and try a few different pads to see.. The originals are the ones that work best. They're a bit hard but they do a good job. I tried omega, O2, Denon and others. The thing that had me seriously interested was a straight donut of thick mem foam. That also works extremely well though ultimately impractical. I might try lining the front of the mem foam with leather to see how it does. Sonically, very nice.

Ughhh, the wait for my LCD-2 continues and is painfully slow :frowning2:  I put my name down on the list on May 10 (the day they were released i think) and just learned that I will have to wait 'a few more weeks', whatever that means. It'll all be worth it though once they get here!

I can't find the rated impedance on the audeze site and searching the thread is timing out for some reason, whats the impedance of these phones?

Can anyone indulge me as to the qualities of the LCD2 with small and large scale classical? Please and Thank you! :)

The wikiphonia is your friend. Impedance is 50 ohm.

Ah yes. That also jogged my memory that the new site has a much expanded review section. Going over some of the posts there, it seems comfort might be consider its only real downfall of these phones. Looks like a very good value tho. Temptation is building.... Since the manufacture has graciously added mini xlrs to the phones - which I applaud greatly as a community member - are any of the 3rd party cable makers offering cables? Not such much as to revolutionize its sound, rather I'm simply a completest in this hobby. Looks like moon audio does.

Why did you sleeve the IC-4 cable?  It's already in Teflon so it's protected.
