Headphoneus Supremus
I bought one the other day as well. Can't wait!!!

Can any of you confirm if the LCD 2f has the same type of glare in the higher frequencies that the LCD 3f has?

The LCD3F has more resolution everywhere and is smoother imo
There is enough variation in units that it could just be luck of the draw.
I have loved both LCD3Fs I've heard though. The only time I've found the 3Fs 'glaring' is when I first heard them out of my droid max to a WA7, with the expectation of them being super dark
LCD3 resolution is definitely better, but not ridiculous like the difference between LCD2 and HD800. LCD3 sounds more refined, detailed, but smoother. Cleaner, with slightly bigger soundstage. I've listened to it a couple times, but the LCD2 is still really competitive. I don't really miss the LCD3s even if I would like to own themIs the lcd-3f heads and shoulders above in regards to resolution? or does it barely inch past the lcd 2f?
Never spent so much on headphones in my life (even with the $250 discount [total $750]). The LCD2s better blow my ******* mind. I really want to like them, and I really don't want to return them.
Edit: and I don't think the weight is going to bother me (motorcycle helmets ftw).
The LCD-2s are a lot brighter than I imagined. I have to turn down the volume to not be fatigued. Seems like $1000+ hi-fi headphones have sacrificed technicality and analytical sound over enjoyment.
Honestly, the major thing $1000+ headphones have over mid-fi ones like the hd650 is hearing the artist breathing, or other miniscule sounds in the background like noise, which doesnt do anything for you as a consumer. It might be useful for the the sound engineer. You are basically paying like 3x the price of mid-fi to hear redundant sounds in the recording, like hiss.
