Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones
Jan 24, 2019 at 11:20 AM Post #6,151 of 7,348
Got Isine 20 and Happy with the audio quality. From the past 6 months, I am very frustrated with them. Not able to find good ear tips and hooks. Which ones you guys recommend to buy which are ready to ship? I do not want to buy ear hooks and send it to someone else and wait for a long time. Looking for something available now for shipping. Thanks in advance.

Got my iSine 20 on last farther's day sale. I got the bundle version with Cipher V2 cable, which I hardly use. I do like the Cipher cable but only used it when traveling light. I primarily use a regular cable with iFi Black label DAC with my sources daily basis. This is my ultimate mobile combo with iSine 20. I have not been touching my Shure SE846 since.

BTW: regarding the hooks. I only managed to break only one hook since I got the 20. I never removed it and using it daily basis. I email the tech support, they actually sent me the new complete hook set free of charge. I also purchased additional set from Audeze. I think, I will be all set with the hook for a long while.

Do you use apple stuff or are you eq manually?
I'm EQ it manually with the Earstudio 100 bluetooth DAC, i'm not using the reference house sound of audeze. i'm EQ it too my own preferences :) because you can make them sound like anything you want. I'm boosting the low mid freq and bass freq expecially because their planar bass is just perfect

Would you be kind enough to share your EQ settings on the ES100?

I sincerely hope no one buys these blatant copies.
Audeze invests in research, both LCD series Planars, and Isine type monitors are unique, nothing like these Planars existed. Audeze invented them.
We should support original research, expenses and risks that Audeze chose to carry.

But especially Isine and LCDi4, the open design IEM Planar is complete game changer, everything before that, my 4 armature Shure 846 and IEMs costing over $1000 are basically now useless, even isine 20 blows them all away, never mind i4, to my ears.

Made in USA counts for something. Almost nothing is made in Western world now.

All these reasons make me not even look at some blatant copy from China.

Usually those copies from China are junk made by junk.

Just got a pair of used isine 10s and a simple google didn't give me the best eq settings for em. Most are for i20s. I know this may habe been given tons already but can someone help provide the eq settings as there are a lot of pages to go back and search for them?

I am particularly using a pioneer 300r dap if that helps. Thanks.

Not sure how customizable the EQ is on your DAP but here is the recommended EQ to hit the Harman Target Curve:

Parametric EQs
Apply preamp of -6.8dB and build filters manually with these parameters.

Filter 1: ON PK Fc 43 Hz Gain 6.2 dB Q 0.19
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 436 Hz Gain 2.3 dB Q 1.03
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 1400 Hz Gain -7.0 dB Q 1.53
Filter 4: ON PK Fc 2133 Hz Gain 8.2 dB Q 0.86
Filter 5: ON PK Fc 5152 Hz Gain 4.8 dB Q 1.86
Filter 6: ON PK Fc 1020 Hz Gain -0.8 dB Q 3.03
Filter 7: ON PK Fc 1414 Hz Gain 1.3 dB Q 1.75
Filter 8: ON PK Fc 1508 Hz Gain -1.7 dB Q 5.18
Filter 9: ON PK Fc 6451 Hz Gain 3.2 dB Q 4.95
Filter 10: ON PK Fc 7640 Hz Gain -2.2 dB Q 1.77

Thanks Braniac. Although my dap only has these. Looks like it's not as extensive as what you've given. IMG_20190125_145234.jpg

That's going to be tricky. Not sure what type of coloration your DAP adds to sound, but try the following as your base and then modify to your liking:
32: 6.0
63: 6.0
125: 5.0
250: 4.0
500: 3.5
1k: 0.0
2k: 6.0
4K: 5.0
8K: 0.0
16K: 0.0
32K: 0.0

Speaking of EQ, for those who are using Equalizer APO with the Reveal plugin and want a little more upper extension and air without sacrfice the overall great tonallity, I recommend these settings for Graphic EQ:

GraphicEQ: 32 -0.4; 64 -0.4; 125 -0.4; 250 -0.4; 500 -0.4; 1000 0.6; 2000 2.1; 4000 3.3; 8000 3.8; 16000 5.2

Along with 100% wet Mix in the Reveal plugin panel and -8.6 dB on Preamp for tame the peak gain. Pure glory.

Something like this:

Well, if only because the 20 has a longer "voice coil" (it doesn't really have one, but that is what the Audeze people call it, so I'm calling it that too), meaning the moving element has more travel, so moves more air, I went with the 20 myself.
I believe the ‘longer voice coil’ just means that the conductive track etched into the membrane extends further towards the edges, meaning it moves as a flat driver with less deforming and breakup. It doesn’t have greater travel as far as I know. I could be wrong but hopefully @KMann will correct me if necessary

The longer trace gives us better granularity/control over how the force is distributed over the surface of the diaphragm. This in turn results in better control and resolution.

I have 6 pairs of large ear hooks (official Audeze ones) if anyone wants to swap with Medium ones?
