Thank you, I held back because of all the "OMG CIPHER CABLE TAKES IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL" posts

In my opinion it only cleans up any small static or distortion for a clear noise floor. Whenever I have certain apps open without the cipher cable I can hear some slight humming etc not a big deal but that's the only difference I've experienced.

Or only the serial number can tell it?

That is the only difference I know of, maybe there is something else but you'd have to wait for another response.

Wouldn't the EL8 closed be the better comparison? I am actually curious about the EL8 closed. I know the first issued EL8 design (closed) was not that well received so I'm wondering if the new closed version is better?

The original version, no. The current one seems quite well received. I know I adore my titaniums.

Yea I wasn't a big fan at all of the original closed, but they improved it a lot in the more recent versions. In my personal opinion it goes:
 
Sine < 2016 EL-8c < 2016 EL-8o
 
Everyones ears are different and all models have their pros and cons. I like how light/portable the Sine is (also affordable).

Mine do this as well. It might be just a result of the seal. It also does it when I turn my head if the seal is tight. I simply adjust the seal and it goes away. I'm not sure if it is a problem or not, but I guess we'll wait till more chime in. BTW, I have the 2016 model.
