From my 3 month journey, so far ive found it amazing the difference i hear between all my cans From my rbh hp2 with crazy bass response to my eikons which sound bliss. Hp2<hd650<AFO<he560(comes today)<lcd2c<eikon

My amps being cayin iha6 la Figaro 339 (tube) using balanced and SE.

It's been a trip, I've spent 4k dollars in a span a little over 2 months for the pursuit. Ill be attending canjam NYC to further expand my horizon(i hope not). I can't imagine selling my eikon they're the best closed hps ive ever listened to id go as far as to call them the best neutral sounding cans period.

It’s a real trip this hobby of ours! Out of interest did you try the Atticus as well, and if so how does it compare to the Eikon for you?

Desk space is at a premium for me also...I bought a very nice acrylic monitor stand from amazon for like $30, it will support 80 lbs.
It worked out great and saved me much space...i highly can recommend this stand.

Can you link the monitor stand? I like that a lot and I think it will help my setup.

I know OTL amps have been covered previously, with the amdandsound kenzie/mogwai getting high praises, however for ~$1000 what is the best I could purchase? I know this is a broad question but I'm really itching for a great synergy with my Atticus. The La Figaro 339 is the one I have my eye on.

If you can be a little bit patient you can order a custom OTL amp from 2359glenn here at the forums.
Price will vary from what options that you want....even a basic model will rock your world.

Keep in mind that the ampsandsound amps aren't OTLs... but they are great amps, as my Leeloo can attest!

I already own the La Figaro 339 and have already upgraded to a Glenn OTL. Theres nothing wrong with the 339.Its great with the HD6xx and HD250 but I feel theres more to be squeezed from the Atticus. Based upon reports of the Glenn from members who know way more about tube amps than I,I took the Glenn plunge. I am 5th in line for a build and I probably wont be getting it until late March/April,so I cannot comment on an a/b as of yet.

Does anyone think the Bottlehead Crack would be a good pairing with the Atticus? I built one for the 650 and was wondering if I could use it or would the output impedance be too high (I've read this can be changed through some tubes).
