I have made the decision to return the SR15.

For the price there are just too many flaws for me. This seems to be the case with all DAPs.

Ultimately I’m very disappointed by my experience here but thank you to everyone that helped me out over the last few weeks.

What flaws?

meanwhile I installed Foobar 2000. Finally an equalizer that works better and works also with BT.
Well the player is not very confortable but at least it works.

once i plug in the usb, the "USB mode" makes some spins and then blacks out, means no connection even, i tried on USB 2 and 3, both failed, was ok before update

Try a soft reset before attempting the update. While the player is turned on, press and hold the power button for 10 - 15 seconds until the player shuts down. Once the player shuts down, press the power button again to turn it on. Attempt the update once it restarts.

Too many problems, limited management and non-advanced BT (without LDAC).
I was authorized to return it. Now I go to Fiio M11, it costs less and I think it is more suitable for me.

What flaws?

I’ve explained this in several previous posts.

So my main gripe is that the unit will not copy WAVs with metadata info. Half my music library is WAV, I could convert but I’m perfectly happy using VOX via iPhone with FiiO Q5 & Dragonfly Cobalt. VOX plays WAVs with artwork and correct data and this set-up sounds superior to the SR15 anyway.

Battery life is poor. The unit loses battery charge even when it’s turned off and not touched for a day or two.

The unit overheats like crazy, some will be fine with this but it is not a sign of a high-end product if you ask me.

I see other flaws commented by other people also but the ones I have noted are enough for me to return.

Ultimately I didn’t really need a DAP I was intrigued and liked the idea of no wires / amps etc to have to set up but ultimately for the money this product was a big let down for me.

The functionality of these DAPs has a little way to go before I’ll invest again.

usb storage mounts as normal.

I have been testing it with a version of test firmware and have had a few issues. I am waiting for some updated test firmware to test again.
