The only thing a DAP "has" to do is sound great. $2500 for a DAP may sound like a lot, but that will give you glorious, true audiophile music that will take you to your grave. WORTH IT!

2500 is steep for just a dac, id want something else like an amp included :S

Is the SR15’s line out a 'true' line out... bypassing the dap’s internal amp?

I have looked everywhere, including the user manual, and I cannot seem to find the answer.

Just ordered my SR15, should arrive Monday. Looking forward to comparing it to my AK300 and DP-X1 through a new (to me) set of CA Andros and SE846s, balanced, natch. Different DAC setups on all 3, so could be interesting, or disappointingly similar.

So... nobody knows if the SR15’s line out is a true line out that bypasses the internal amp?

I am planning on partly using the SR15 as a USB dac feeding the analog signal to my headphone amp.

I’m not gonna lie: I have SE846’s and an AK70ii, and it’s nothinh but pure pleasure listening, even though the SR15 is VERY intriguing. I just think the SE846 are so solid and have been such a rewarding purchase.

True about the 846. I feel the same way about them with my DP-X1. However, I was really shocked at what I was getting from the Andromedas. I like them both very much, but the Andros are hard to beat. I’m hoping the SR15 will up the overall system performance over the Onkyo. Though, to be honest, the Onkyo/Andro combination is stellar.

Always been intrigued by those Andromeda’s, but after years, been trying to rein in the spending on my (deteriorating) ears!

Been enjoying SR15 for about 3 weeks now and I have to say it is amazing coming from and iPhone X. Been using it mostly with my newly acquired B&W PX's in both aptxHD and wired modes. This is my first HiRes wireless setup and I have to say that I am impressed! I really do not notice too much difference between aptxHD and wired mode, however wired mode does sound more specious I should say. Also using norma on my bottle-head kit tube amp and Omega systems Super 3s speakers, norma with DSD and 24/96 source files in wired mode made it come alive! Clarity, space and sound stage make it sound like a whole new setup!

Very happy with this buy and cant wait for firmware update where we can download tidal tracks!

Does anybody have the ak70mk2 and Sr15 to compare? Wondering which sounds the nicest
