I think it's very disappointing the USB-c cable that comes with the SP2000 is not capable of DAC function. I'm searching the web for "dac usb-c cable" and so on -- and I'm coming up empty. Long shot, but: does anyone know of a usb cable that does this? I mean a USB-c cable that connects the SP2000 to a PC enabling the dac function?

There is no need for a special cable to use the USB DAC function with a PC. The issues you are having could be a number of possibilities.

1. Bad USB-C Cable - This is a standard USB-C to USB-A cable and any standard USB-C to USB-A cable can be used. I would try another cable to see if that is the issue.
2. Bad USB port on the PC - Try switching the USB port used. Also if you are connecting to a UBS hub, certain hubs will cause issues. Try connecting to a direct USB port, preferably on the back of the PC if it is a desktop. Most PC front ports are connected to the motherboard via a cable and could have additional issues.

First, make sure your microSD card is formatted with the FAT32 file system for best results. You can format it as FAT32 from the player itself or on a computer. Check out this FAQ for specific information - https://us.astellnkern.com/apps/help-center#hc-how-do-i-format-my-memory-card

I would recommend loading all the tracks onto the card at once, them doing a manual media scan to index everything. The player will index in the background over several starts, but if you are transferring a large amount of files, I always recommend the manual media scan so it completes all at once and future startups are faster since the player is not background indexing. To do a manual media scan - Settings -> System Reset -> Initialize media scan.

Please note, it can take up to 15+ minutes for a full media scan, depending on size of microSD card and how many files you have.

Thank you, it's working perfectly now and having no issues with the indexing of the music.

Update the player's firmware and you will able to install apkx packages using xapk installer.

My sp2000 stopped playing dsd files. They can steam and play on my Hugo 2go, but won’t play locally. I’ve done a factory reset to no avail. Is there a way to reflash the firmware? Anyone else encounter this problem? Plays other formats, but hangs on dsd files. Am running 1.26CN.

Shoot. Firmware refresh didn't work. I guess its going back to AK.

pull your headphones out then put them back in again. not the most elegant fix but it works.
