Hello, I have both SP2000CU and M15, let's put the things straight, the SP2000 is the best Dap i ever heard, so, how it compares to the M15? The M15 is a very good player, it has a very powerful amp, it is very dynamic especially compared with the M11 for exemple that IMO lacks dynamics, the improvement is clear has water, the SP2000CU is clearly better, the sound is more natural, the bass is stronger but controlled, the stage is more real, and has a more organic feeling in the sound, so, conclusion, if you have a M15 you are good... Until you listen SP2000, but that s a natural thing, the price diference justify that

Thank you so much for this detailed comparison. I own the M15 and really want to get the SP2000 (SS), but was afraid the difference would be just barely noticeable. Sounds like a clear upgrade though from what you’re saying.

It is an upgrade. The M15 is an impressive DAP, but it would come down to which is more natural. The SP2K is very natural sounding and while the M15 is a dynamic sounding player, with power, the SP2K has a smoother, more natural tone and power. I also prefer the UI of the A&K.

It’s all subjective as my preference is the house sound of AK. I’ve had the DX200 with various modules and sold it. I have not heard the Max and probably never will.

I just exchanged my CU for the SS and just received it couple days ago. It was brand new with sealed. But when I opened it, the player has a tiny mark on the corner. Im kinda disappointed and not sure should I contact the seller for exhange or not ?
Btw I like it more than the CU because its lighter. For the sound, maybe its airier, soundstage is tiny larger than the CU ? Im not sure, its hard to hear the differences between them. But I like it when it pairs with my LX. Less warm than the CU.

I don't understand this. Hugo specs say 94mW @ 300 Ohms, 740mW @ 32, 1050 @ 8. All of these are lower than the power implied by SP2000's (balanced) 6Vrms output, although Hugo2 clearly produces more than SP2000's SE output.

Because the 6 Vrms output is only in line out mode. The actual power output, which AK never tells you, is about 1.4 vrms when volume is set to be 130. At max volume the output is about 2v, with about 30% distortion.

You don't know what you are talking about... My God, line out, 6V? Where?Do you have a SP2000? go to the line out menu and select 6v.... You can't, does not exist... stop saying crap

The case will cover it and I’m sure you will add your own love marks. I prefer the ss as well.
