Astell & Kern KANN - DAP with Massive Storage & Battery

Outstanding as far as I'm concerned. Of course the HD800s require HIGH gain and a volume of about 90+ , but the headroom is really expansive, detailed and lush that, to me at least, it's almost jawdropping. I'm hearing individual instruments in detail I've never heard anywhere before. I have a Questyle QP1R attached to a Mojo and Cavalli Liquid Carbon that I thought was a great setup until I bought the KANN. Just simply the best I've ever heard. Can't wait to hear the HD800's and the KANN with balanced cables.

I have tested 800s and Kann using balanced cables. High gain and +90 volume. Ak300 and paf11 is more or less the same.

In my humble opinion booth configurations move the 800s but you are getting 85% of them.

Just try to make some a/b tests with an stationary amp and you will hear the difference.

So in conclusion, nice for a portable environment but I think it is not enough.

Not sure what the playlist song limit is but it seems there is one. It takes forever to load the playlist screen. I have what I'm assuming is too many songs on one of my playlists and now that screen won't load at all.

When removing the memory should be going first to the setting screen and press eject to ensure safely remove, otherwise will show damaged card on Kann.

In case if that happen when without pressing safely remove do reformat the memory with using Kann.

Just want to know the actual tested battery life of the device.

Greetings

There is a good priced AK KANN on the second hand forum especially for people who live in Europe, but I wonder if it is considered as an upgrade to Sony ZX2. I just want to ask if anyone can compare the KANN to Sony ZX2 used with my Sony XBA Z5

Cheers

Did anyone compare DX200 vs Kann?
One does Tidal offline and the other don't. But Kann has, less bugs or none, full sd card support and way longer battery life.
Planning on using especially whith Hugo 2.
Probably i can try both myself but that's not until next Month at CanJam London.

Is there anyone here with a Kann and a copy of "A Moon Shaped Pool"?
I'm asking because no matter what I listen to it through it sounds like someone paints the sound with a thick bass brush. The highs are clear but the bass is like a smear over it. Also it didn't sound like that on my Dp-X1 or my phone for that matter (lgv20). The files are 24bit. I've used hd650, se535-sej (both balanced), also my car and truck stereos through aux. Also no eq. In the vehicles the bass is set to 0 or less.Just trying to figure out if I have a faulty unit.

Did you receive your Opus #1 yet?
Nope, not yet...still on its way from the UK (should be here soon)
This reminds me that I have to order some extra micro sd cards

My curiosity got the best of me. I hate when I do that because I spend stupid money. The Opus #2 is fantastic and I have no need for another player. The one thing I would like to see is the power in the balanced port on the Kann.

I thought there are several posts about Opus #2 in this thread. You should be able to search for those posts.
