All I want for Christmas is:

1. ROON
2. Slimmer design
3. ROON
3. Better battery life
4. ROON

Don't care about:
1. 4.4 balanced...I'm good with the 2.5mm balanced port
2. ability to play larger headphones...that's what desktop amps are for...IMHO
3. multiple SD cards (micro or whatever)
4. more memory

IMHO...

Yes, for home use, so the unit can be portable and home use.
I like this feature more than 4.4mm HP output, as 4.4mm & 2.5mm are no good
to feed into balance input of desktop amp.
I might sell Q5 and get this DAP.

More importantly, what DSP Chip or interface is being used ?

Will the Digital Signal Processing be using Xmos-IC ? Or FPGA ? Or what ?

Will there still be Ribbon Cables in the analog-socket ?

No surprises here. This is competing Sony DMP-Z1! I just need to see more details about the internal components to judge which one uses the better parts/components. Sony is using their own proprietary DSP-IC interface

Just found this on the Cayin N6II forum, from Andy:

"From audio performance point of view, no, we won't even consider that (using dual ES9038PRO -DM). The battery in N6ii don't have enough power to sustain the dual ESS9038PRO chipset probably. ESS9038Pro is a software configurable chipset, they offered different modes of operation, and some of the operation modes drain less power, but the audio performance is significantly below the premium stage where the impressive specification are recorded. In other word, if we go for dual ESS9038pro, we can but we need to under-power the components, this won't sound better then a properly powered ESS9038Pro anyway."

So the question for Cube: How were the dual ES9038PROs setup?

Doesns't the cube have a huge battery? That would be my answer.

@JasonNYC
The KANN CUBE include a leather case in the retail box?

It looks impressive for demanding headphones, i don’t care for the 4,4mm output (i’ts quite uncomfortable and very bulky), IMO the 2,5mm output it’s fine.

Yes, KANN CUBE includes a leather case in the retail box. It's similar to the case for the SP1000 AMP. I thought I took some pics of it, but can't find it in the moment. Below are the pics of the SP1000 case. The KANN CUBE has a similar design on the back.
