Surprisingly, AK380+Amp can drive LCD3 at high gain.

Can you expand on this? I just picked up an rwAK380 +rwAmp and haven't yet had the time to plug them into my LCD3, but thought there'd be no way in hell that they could drive them sufficiently (LCD3s need juice and the general consensus seems to be that the amp isn't all that powerful). I might've just stumbled into a nice little transportable setup!

Drive is one thing whether it can drive to its full potential is another thing.

Hello , yesterday i finaly had a chance to listen with attention to my copper combo with the hifiman he400i that are not very hard to drive , but with 93 db is not easy a all, and i the sound is simply awsome, transparent, refined, with good bass and big BIG STAGE and pinpoint focus, and in balanced 80 out of 150 is with some songs , more than enough for me, great GREAT combo

What is the power of the amp at high gain? Quoting 8.1Vrms is not useful. Anyone know the wattage?

Drives LCD-3 at 110 and LCD-4 at 120. Both with authority IMHO

I think you would need someone to run the measurements since AK doesn't publish power ratings for any of their devices. However, using some basic assumptions, I think you get an approximation.

AK states 8-9 hours operation of the amp. The battery is 3400 mAH. Let's also assume AK's estimate is based on 32 Ohm headphones. That would come out to about 200 mA of current at 32 Ohms. Let's also assume AK estimates are at 50% volume, low gain so that would give a max of 400 mA at 100% volume. So that results in max power of 800 mW at 32 Ohms.

I think this is entirely plausible since your average DAP outputs around 200-400 mW at 32 Ohms and we expect the AK amp to have substantially more power.

3 CU units, 3 different states of internal mods....
Of course, what is a good comparison without some good ole blind tests.....

Any of these mods by Muzoh?
