AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player

I got one question that I haven't been able to figure out ... when I connect to Hiby software on my phone Hiby will not show any any artwork. The only option I found is to download artwork (and lyrics) for each individual track.
Ideally, I would like to see something like this:

What am I missing?
Just make sure your artwork is a jpg file called cover.jpg, placed in the folder of your album. Also, I always clean up my tags and make sure track, artist, album, date etc is all correct, then I delete any old artwork (if it's tiny, crap or not to my liking) and add the new cover internally.
I always resize my artwork down to 1500x1500 because that's sharp enough and doesn't hog bandwidth.

Unlike your stupid big 8MB example picture. You know, when you write a comment here, there's a pictogram in the taskbar of your edit window, between the chain and the smilie, that's how you insert a picture.
Get familiar with a photo editing program so you can adjust, clip and resize a picture.

and if you don't have funky tags

metadata is always a mess unless you manually fix it all

which is one reason why i dont use it

and most files have hidden metadata that many programs dont even show

metadata was invented for poeple too dumb or lazy to sort their folders and files properly

and it fails to do what it tries to, which is save disorganized poeple from disorganization.

I feel I have to elaborate a bit on the pixel size of 1500². I made a few official covers for new and older albums, for cd and streaming. And 1500 is what I was asked. Also you can find most artwork in proper quality on Amz in that size.
Do the math: a CD cover is 5" times 300dpi. It's not glossy quality but enough to get a nice picture on most screens. And it's usually under 300kB.

I am very particular with my albums covers, on my AP80 I have covers for every album (at 500x500) ... @]eep, yes, I am familiar with picture editing, thank you very much! .. sorry for my "stupid" mistake!

Anyway, my query was about the covers not showing on Hiby app on my phone, on the AP80 the covers show just fine.

Hi to everyone!
I Have the AP80 for 4 years and suddenly its not operate, only the firm screen appears.
How to hard reset this?
Thanks

remove sd card and hold power button down for over 10 seconds

i think the only way to flash the firmware is to copy firmware to sd card then boot into operating system

Just picked up one of these at e-earphones at akihabara at a decent bargain. (The AP80 Pro actually)

What's the easiest way to sync your library to this device?
I don't really want to have to remove the microsd card to do so... I was kind of surprised the device didn't have wifi.

* Is there a mass storage mode at all?
* Can you transfer via bluetooth or anything?

Believe that the AP80's do NOT have WIFI. It does have Bluetooth, but that is not for transferring files, only for audio playback. You can transfer files via USB connection to your computer; But it will be slow 20MB/s as it's an older USB version. Fastest way to transfer files, is directly to the Micro-SD card attached to your computer with a reader/adapter if needed.

Here is a link to a review of the AP80Pro-X... https://archimago.blogspot.com/2023/06/review-hidizs-ap80-pro-x-music-player.html

I've always used MediaMonkey to sync my music players. USB connection is required for the AP80.

To follow on from what has been said above me - I'm not yet aware of a media player that offers full speed USB transfer speeds, even though it isn't your preferred method of transferring - it would be far far quicker doing it by putting the card into your music source device.

As it seems since an iOS update of the last months, the AP80 series cannot be used as USB DAC anymore with iPhone or iPad (only Mac). I think this got confirmed by Hidizs and I have no clue if / why this cannot be changed again (whether this is a software issue or a licence thing going on). But actually nothing surprises me anymore with this company since they don`t seem to care that much about fixing bugs or after service...
I recently got the DDHifi MFi07s Lightning OTG cable, and I discovered that it allows the AP80 to connect as a dac. Not sure exactly what specs enable this, but they mention updated Lightning specification. Not sure it’s worth the eye watering price for a cable the size of a Vienna sausage, but I assume it would work with the Pro/Pro X as well. For what it’s worth, the Hidizs/Hiby Lightning cable does not work, and died after a couple months at any rate.

I recently got the AP80 and I noticed it came with 2.5 firmware. I stupidly "updated" the firmware to 2.3. But I think it made the background noise worse. Not sure but I would like to go back to 2.5 to see if that helps. Cant find the 2.5 firmware anywhere so I wrote to Hidizs to see if they can help me. Meanwhile, does anyone know if the 2.5 firmware is available anywhere?

And also, AP80 owners, do you also have the same problem with quite high background noise?
