AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player

I wish I could say the same. I'm finding bugs on a weekly basis.

Only yesterday I found a way of getting the AP80 and R3 Pro stuck in Bluetooth receiver mode.

Last week, while writing a script to generate playlists, I noticed that the filename casing used on Hiby OS is completely weird.

Here's the complete list of bugs I've found from owning the AP80 and R3.

here is a post that might offer some help

Hello, just get AP80 Pro on relative cheap price.
I need some help.

After several days use,
I found thatthe battery percentage is very inaccurate.
On a day, I charged my AP80 Pro to 97% at night,
but it bacame 100% on the next morning.
On another day,
my battery percentage became to 64% after I use it for sometime,
but after I turn it off and restart it after several hours,
it's battery percentage became to 46%...
Does this normal?

Thanks.

Have you use it to connect with other DAC?

no i only used them both with a pair of wired 24 ohms over ear headphones

i got about 11.5 hours playback off the ap80 (before i smashed the screen and sold it for 20$) and 10.5 hours off the ap80 pro i currently have

maybe you are on standby mode. ive never used it and always manually power off

How about your volume?
I always useit on 70-90 due to my low volume recordigs.

i was actually getting tiny electric shocks on the top of my head from my headphones yesterday, because i ripped the padding off the top

my volume is usually around 55 on the ap80 pro, i cant remember what it used to be on the ap80 regular.

i use replaygain tags. which use 89DB's i think.

lost of modern music is brickwalled all the way up to 105DB's these days.

so if it wasnt for replaygain i guess my volume would be even lower than 55

Hi guys.
Can these players (this and the Pro X) be used as just a source through the DIGITAL OUTPUT (I think it would have to be the USB output mode) connected to an external DAC? Basically just sending the untouched Hi-Res signal bypassing its internal DAC and AMP functions (SPDIF basically).

@Oscarilbo:

It worked for me with the following DAC: iFi micro iDSD, Fostex HP-A8 and Advance Paris PX1, but:

- the AP80 volume knob is affecting the signal loudness, so I guess it's not 100% "untouched"?

- switching off the iFi iDSD first causes the AP80 to crash (no problem with the other DAC).

Thank you. Interesting. So it is not really acting as a SPDIF output then.

Hi all,
Ive just updated my Hiddizs AP80 player to the most recent firmware.
When i try to drag and drop files across to my AP80 via USB C connection the file transfer takes place but when i disconnect my Hidizs and go to find what I’ve just transferred it isn’t there? Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks
Ed
