There are a few better than normal deals for Monster Turbine Gold's coming from the HK. I have not run into any fakes in my years of ordering things from there but I'm just wondering if anyone has heard of any fakes of these making the rounds?

I'm slighlty leary even though they have a good seller rating, and I have gotten some good deals from HK before without a problem.

I have not seen them in person. They can be had for $200 - $400 China dollars. (Photos are probably borrowed from others' reviews.)

Yep glad I checked, I have not seen any Monster fakes so I was happy to see the prices so good on a few ebay sellers. Guess I'll stick to trying to get some used ones from US sellers.

Monster earphones are only made in US, correct me if I am wrong. So it'd make more sense for it to be more expensive if it comes from places like Hong Kong, as they need to ship it there and then ship it somewhere else. For example, spending like $140 (the price on the ebay link) on something that you are not sure whether it's genuine or not, or spending like $180-200 on something that is genuine with proper lifetime warranty, which one is better?

That link was for the coppers which is a lot more than the gold's.

There is a HK seller that has a buy now price of 85$ for the Monster Turbine Golds. If they were real I'd jump on them at that price and not worry about the lack of lifetime warranty.

But I'm not going to pay a dime for fake products obviously.

here is the link

The pictures do look real but it is not difficult to get pictures of the real thing. However I have not heard of any fake Golds or even Coppers but there are indeed fake Monster products. The ad there does say satisfaction guaranteed or money back. If I were to choose 80 or so without warranty or 180-200 with warranty I'd choose the 80 any day.

Yeah, if they offer money back, there is some sense for getting it. Although we have not seen fake Monsters yet, I don't doubt there are fakes lying around the market.

Problem is though getting a refund from HK may be painfull and if they are selling fakes they may not honor the money back gurnatee anyway. Or if they are really good fakes the only way you'd be able to tell is to compare the sound with real Monster's. Probably not worth the risk unless someone here is willing to take the plunge and compare them to the real deal.

I'll do the experiment. The scientist in me is just begging for an answer.

I have both a legit MTPC and MTPG, just ordered a fake MTPC. I'll report back in like 2 weeks (takes time to ship from China).

Then we'll have an answer once and for all!
