I have 225s and ps500s. Ps500s have plenty of bass above 30hz. But below 30Hz, the stuff of R&B, HipHop, and little else? Nothing. So few of my tracks are of those genres, I didn't notice it for a long time. But once I did -- once I heard my lowly Bose cans hammer out very satisfying sub-bass the 500s didn't touch, it became an annoyance to realize I couldn't use a pair of $600 cans for all music. I understand the "accuracy of reproduction" comments and Grados deliver pretty well overall, but if a recording includes 10 - 30Hz passages and you can't hear them, that's not accuracy.
