Does anyone know what DAC does the Samsung Galaxy S use ?
samsung galaxy 2.... this will be cool....
Wolfson WM8994! Nexus S is also using the same and iirc the LG Optimus 2X and Galaxy S2 also.
Yeah, the new voodoo sound plus is just awesome - no more flashing with Odin or CWM. Just buy the app and load the module and it works with all galaxy s ROMs and kernels. I've been using voodoo since October but it evolved so fast. With voodoo sound the galaxy s gets so superior to all android phones and iphones that it should be discussed in another thread. And all that costs a couple of bucks - those are the best two and a half dollars spent in my entire life.
Btw is there anything similar to this for the iPhone eg from XDA developers ?
Thanks
I don't know. I think the Samsung phones, the Galaxy series are said to have pretty good audio hardware and sound (but then their interface and support is terrible, as a smartphone).
I have a HTC with PowerAmp on it, and while it sounds okay, I wouldn't exactly be excited to spend hours listening to music on it. Maybe 20-30 minutes...an hour tops, if I'm waiting for something or someone to kill time, that's about the extent of it. From feedback, it seems most HTC's have subpar to only slightly above average sound quality, in general (there might be a couple that are alright though, so don't throw the book at me)
Love or hate Apple, I'm afraid with Equ and the even the older iPhones, they have most androids and probably most, if not all other smart phones beat when it comes to audio quality as a DAP.
