How to update Neutron on M11 without messing up license info?
License info (paypro) should remain unperturbed. On X5iii I have to install an apk for the ARMv7+Neon version and it doesn’t fuss with any play store license check that’s already passed (or request a new one be done).

Ok...perhaps this is a stupid question.

Using a FiiO M11.

I have the Follow Source Frequency setting on.

When playing MP3 files, they are showing as 44/32bit - not 44/16bit. AAC files register as 44/16.

...is this normal? I'd prefer no upsampling if possible - is there a way to get MP3s to just play in their originally encoded bitrate?

Thanks!!

Are you seeing the source bit depth or the output bit depth?

Hmmm..not sure to be quite honest. Here's some screen shots.

Click the three dots to the right of the song title on now playing screen. This will cycle between (info not shown) (source) & (output).

Even so, padding 0s to the bit depth is not destructive to sound quality, and if the sampling rate isn't changing, then I don't think you've got anything to be wary of.

Hmm...source is showing 32 bit as well...but if I use the FiiO music app that comes pre-installed on my player, all my MP3s are showing as 16 bit.

...am I being too OCD about this? Ha.

You ears can’t tell the difference that your eyes can, methinks.

Neutron is just being a bit too transparent about the way MP3 is being decoded.

“In fact, although the mp3 word is a 16-bit file, when playing the mp3 it will decode to full 32-bit float.” -Bob Katz
