.....and, I'm up for air!

I had been going to the InnerFidelity site now and then after Tyll left to see what they've been up to and today I just noticed that the header now says Stereophile. Googling innerfidelity to find things like the headphone wall of fame now just goes to the Stereophile page. Has InnerFidelity finally gone bye-bye?

Interesting...I guess so. I noticed about a month or two back posts started slowing down quite a bit...wondered if its days were numbered.

No surprise the direction went to much form over function they seemed more nterested in hipster arty photography which would be ok if the content and reviews matched the quality of the photography and had substance but unfortunately for the most part the review's were pretty useless.

Like headphone.com, which was long ago sold to the owners of headphones.com. Tyll's work has been relegated to history. I'm glad to see that his talent is bringing pleasure to people around him still, if off-the-grid.

I want to put in a good work for headphones.com, where I bought a set of Focal Clears almost two years ago. They were easy to deal with, and the headphones were delivered on schedule. When something went wrong (rattling noise), they replaced them quickly, no questions asked. Tyll's company (headphone.com) was also great to deal with.

Innerfidelity should have gone offline the day Tyll retired!

I always wondered if he really did retire or was asked to leave. At the time, he had reviews in progress and several long promised reviews lined up. It was very sudden. And when Stereophile replaced him, they announced that they would be taking a new direction to try to expand readership beyond Tyll's loyal audiance. Then the new guy makes it clear that he does not care about the history of the site or the current readers. He says he will continue doing measurements, but says they are no longer central to the sites mission (and then never follows thru anyway). It sure seemed like there was more to the story than was reported. I can't imagine that Rafe made those changes without the approval of his bosses.
